Max (Pokemon)/Seira (Mermaid Melody)
oneshot crossover

A/N: oldfic is old, but I just found this last night... I don't remember why I was obsessed with this couple, but a year ago or so I fell in love with it. XD So yeah, have a random short oneshot.

You know, there was a reason they put the word "date" in "study date". And that was the one thing the black-haired boy didn't have a formula for.

Seira sighed. How could he not see that? He watched plenty of TV, but he must not have paid much attention to his soaps; this scene was straight out of them, and yet he didn't notice a thing!

She looked at Max, who was explaining (in vain) how to solve a 2-step equation. She liked him. She REALLY liked him. She wanted to reach out and—you know!—and hug him or something! Kiss him, even! Hold his hand, touch him, anything, ANYTHING! To break this HORRIBLE, utterly platonic studying! He knew plenty about inequalities, so why didn't he realize study date?!

"Seira? Seira, are you really listening?" he asked, snapping her back to reality. "O-of course!" she said, smiling nervously (something else he didn't notice.) "Could you explain that part to me again? I didn't really understand it too well..." Her finger rested on a random step. Max nodded hesitantly, and shifted a bit closer to her. "So since x is 5 here, you..."

Seira went back to not hearing a word, resuming her shameless staring at his concentrated face, which he didn't acknowledge in the least. Had he not realized why his sister had giggled all through dinner? Why Lucia had winked at him when she dropped the young princess off? How she had inched closer to him slowly all evening?

This was simply UNBEARABLE!

"Hey, Max. You got this part wrong." Seira said hazily, suddenly pointing to a random place on the paper close to her.

The boy looked over. "What? Seira, that's not even a proble—"

"Exactly." she said, and kissed him.

Max's face lit up. Slowly, he closed his eyes and kissed her back...

SNAP!

The two immediately broke apart and stared in the direction of the sound, horror-struck.

May stood there in the doorframe with a digital camera. "This is gold!! Congrats, Seira, on making the first mov—"

The orange-haired (and now incredibly pink-faced) girl immediately jumped up. "M-may!! Give me that, right now!!"

The brunette giggled and ran off, Seira on hot her trail.

Max sat there, stunned. He looked down at the half-finished problems, wondering vaguely why he had thought they was what he needed the answers to. There had been much more pressing questions on his mind, yet...

Slowly realizing the blackmail potential of those photos, he stood up and ran off to help his crush find that extremely dangerous camera, the smallest of dorky smiles growing on his face.
