Her name was always a subject of ridicule. When she'd gone to Muggle School the other kids hadn't known what to make of it. Hermione. It was a mouthful for a six year old. So the other kids had taken it upon themselves to call her Hermie, and she despised it. Hermie Hermit they'd tease her. By the time she got her letter to Hogwarts she'd basically hidden herself away and become a loner at school. Trying to escape the teasing and essentially becoming her wretched 'nickname'. But then he'd entered her world in a whirlwind of dirty noses, broken wands and the frequently uttered words 'bloody brilliant'. It had seemed like overnight she'd started to like her name - at least the way he said it anyway. But she knew there had been nothing sudden about it. He'd wormed his way into her heart and made her feel things she'd never known existed. But the first time he'd moaned "Mione" while his body strained above hers she'd said a silent prayer of thanks for her unusual name and the imperfect/perfect man who made it sound like heaven.

The End.
