Chapter 1

We Meet Again

"Well, shall head to the park now Young Master?" came the voice of Sebastian who had been preparing the carriage.

"Oi sis, hurry up!" shouted Ciel from inside it, looking quite impatient with his older sister.

"Alright already! Geez, you're even worst than Bard baking a cake with a flame thrower!" said Ren hopping in.

"Yeah, well at least I wasn't the one locked in the basement for all these year." thought Ciel.

"Saa, on to the park we go before someone gets killed." Sebastian murmured before taking off.

A young woman sat on the grass gazing down at the pond with her dark brown eyes. Her long raven hair, once done up, now blew in the wind. She wore a long-sleeved black bustle dress and in her arms, she held a dark blue bear with a striped bow tie and an eyepatch over it's right eye. The sound of a carriage pulling up caught her attention. Her eyes wandered to where it stopped and she noticed three figures getting off. She recognized them as the Phantomhive siblings and their butler. She smirked. "Butler, huh?"

"Alright! We're here!" exclaimed an excited Ren. Her short livid blue hair bounced every now and then.

"Yeah... but it would have been better without you." Ciel said her.

"Now, now Young Master." The demon chuckled.

He watched as they continued to bicker. Humans, right? Sebastian sighed and began to survey the area. There was something there, he could feel it. It was familiar, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Then their eyes met and he froze.

Ciel and Ren decided to call truce. Ren turned to Sebastian and noticed he wasn't moving. "Sebastian?"

They just stared at the demonic butler whose attention was drawn to where a certain young woman now stood. Ciel saw a look of recognition cross his butler's eyes. This was someone he knew, that enough was clear. His crimson eyes softened and his lips curled into a smile much to Ciel's surprise. While both of them were distracted, Ren made her way over to the mysterious lady.

"Excuse me, miss! But I noticed you were holding a bear—It's so cute!" she squealed.

The woman put the bear in front of her and said in a little voice. "Thank you."

Ren giggled. "Oh! By the way my name is—"

"I know who you are Ren Phantomhive." She smiled at the girl. They shook hands and Ren began making small talk.

Ciel and Sebastian decided to walk over after watching for several minutes. Her chocolate orbs finally met crimson again. A smirk played on Sebastian's lips. "It's been a long time hasn't it, Kuri."

"Too long actually." Her eyes danced with amusement. "I didn't think a demon such as yourself would end up a butler."

The demon sighed. How many was that today? "Long story."

Ren chimed in, "I can give you the abridged version." And received a flick on the forehead.

Kuri looked over at the little earl. He was quite adorable. "A pleasure to meet you Lord Phantomhive. Aren't you a cutie."

Ciel's face became red as Sebastian's eyes. "L-Likewise, Miss... Kuri, was it?"

She nodded.

Who was this person? Ciel usually wasn't curious about people unless they were interesting, and she was. His butler was visibly affected by her presence. Yet. she seemed so ordinary. He shifted closer to get a better look. "She is pretty," Ciel told himself and that's when his eyes caught sight of the bear she held. "I've never seen that bear before. Is it one of ours?"

Sebastian and Kuri's laughter pulled him out of his thoughts. The siblings had never seen the demon like that before. Ever. They watched their interaction closely. There were times when Kuri would lean into him, or Sebastian would ever so often move a stray hair away from her face.

"They are sooo old flames." Ren whispered to Ciel. He was too busy staring at the bear. "Bro!"

"Huh?" She flicked his forehead. "Oh, right... Looks like it."

"So, is she human or...?"

Ciel raised a brow. "Good question... Hey, you think our factory made that bear?"

"Why does that matter?"

"Cause all I ever see are bunnies."

"Well the Bitter Rabbit is our signature."

His visible eye lit up playfully. "Let's add a Bitter Bear."

Ren blinked. "You're missing the beautiful love story here!"
