Title: King

Pairing: Trinity/Neo

Setting: At the point where Neo moves in with Trinity in her Zion apartment.

Well, definitely not my best so far- one of the main reasons it ever was finished is because they've been playing Aerosmith's "Don't wanna miss a thing", a song I particularly associate with TriNeo, quite often on the radio lately, and every time I hear it I feel guilty for not writing any fanfic for them lately, plus that I've been dying for something to write lately that interests me more than school essays ^^;

King

''The comfort doesn't go beyond heating and tap water'' Trinity leaned against the doorframe, letting Neo step past her into the bedroom, ''But I hope you'll still like it.''

''It's a lot tidier than my old flat'' Neo said reassuringly as he sank down on the edge of the stone platform sufficing as bed, pushing his hands into the mattress. It was lumpy, but no worse than his old one. He tried lying down, closing his eyes a moment to concentrate on what it felt like. A lumpy mattress felt slightly different in the real world than in the Matrix, he noticed, but not much. Not very comfortable, not unbearable either.

''It's not exactly kingsize,'' the sound of Trinity's voice as she settled her sleek form at the edge of the bed made him open his eyes, ''though that doesn't seem to bother you'' she added.

''We'll just have to sleep closer to each other'' her boyfriend joked, 'ooof'-ing softly as a pillow landed on his belly with a playful thud.

''Watch your mouth, or I'll get over there. As a matter of fact, I think I will anyway.'' Trinity smirked, something hardly anyone but Neo ever had seen her do about this kind of everyday moments, and reached over him to grab the bunch of matches she kept on the headboard shelf alongside a dozen half-burned candles. She freed a sulfur-headed stick from the bundle, struck it against the ignition surface of a still unopened matchbox, and reached across her lover once more to light the candle wicks residing in their melting towers of stearin. That accomplished, she extinguished the small flame which stubbornly clung to the carbonized wood.

Neo noticed she still was leaning over him, and decided to take a chance on it: he carefully reached a hand up to pull her close, drawing her attention away from the dancing candlelights and into a gentle kiss, pressing their lips softly together. She had apparently not expected him to do that; it took a second for her facial expression to relax, the corners of her mouth threatening to go up in another smile. Then her lips were pressing down on his with greater force, daring him to try harder, go further.

Afterwards they lay sprawled across the bed in a mess of sheets, discarded clothes and entangled limbs.

''As you said earlier'' Trinity pondered while resting her head on Neo's shoulder so that they lay more or less cheek to cheek, her fingers drawing wide circles on his bare chest, ''it'll fit just perfect if we sleep close to each other.''

Neo hummed agreeingly. ''But you know what , Trin?'' Out of the corner of his eye he saw her elegant dark eyebrows rise in an inquiring manner, blue orbs slanting sideways to look into his brown ones, and she made a slight noise that he interpreted as Yes? Go on. He rolled his head sideways, nose poking slightly at Trinity's angular cheekbone, and he thought once more about what he was going to say.

''Whatever you say about your bed not being fit for a king…as long as it's your bed, it still makes me feel like a million dollar bucks.''

Well, done, though a bit short =) But I feel better now, I hope reading this one at least won't make you feel worse. Also, thanks for all the nice Reviews on 'Lines', incase I forgot to thank anyone.
