Saying Good-Bye Saying Hello
------------------------------------
Walking into the living room, Adam sat down on the couch next to Rose and noticed that she was crying. She had been watching an award show and the tissues were on the floor.
"Why?" whispered Rose, sniffing.
"Why what?" asked Adam, looking at her.
"Why is he leaving the show?" asked Rose, leaning her head on his shoulder.
"Who are you talking about?"
"David Tennant," sighed Rose, pointing to the television.
"Well, good for him."
"How can you say that?!"
"What did he say?"
"He said that he wanted to leave while it was fun and he'd be missed."
"And he did it now and not in the paper?"
"Yeah."
"Well, that means he cares about his fans to let them know in person."
"But..."
"Come with me," said Adam, standing up. Taking her hand, they walked to the TARDIS and he opened the door. Walking to the console, Adam typed on the keyboard and looked at the view screen. Rose looked at the view screen when it beeped and a face appeared on the screen.
"That's David Tennant!" gasped Rose.
"Yep," said Adam, popping the "p".
"But how?!"
"Well, you remember when we went to see him at the theatre and you had to call the sitter to check on River while I went for an autograph?"
"Yeah."
"I got mobbed when his fans saw me and thought I was him. The security guys ushered me inside and..."
"Imagine my surprise when we met," teased David.
"It was funny. Anyway, he said it was ok to connect our computers so we can talk. I was going to surprise you but, seeing that you are so..."
"Oh, no, don't tell me she's upset."
"Yep."
"Um..."
"Rose," said Rose, smiling.
"Rose, look, I'm just as upset by this as you are. But, I'm not leaving until the end of next year and have tons of stuff lined up. Tell you what, I'll make sure that you and Adam have front row seats to whatever I do in the theatre and will give you the head's up on whatever project I'm doing so you can come see me film it. You can even bring the baby. I'd love to meet her."
"You sure?" asked Rose.
"Yep!"
"Ok," sighed Rose, wiping her eyes.
"Aw, don't do that, I'm going to cry."
"Sorry."
"Well, I guess I better go. Talk to you soon."
The screen went blank while Adam held Rose, wiping her eyes, and she hugged him.
"I love you," whispered Rose.
"I love you, too," said Adam. Taking her hand, they left the TARDIS and the doors closed behind them.
