Just a little one-shot that I wrote in response to the confession that is supposedly coming up. As always I don't own To-LOVE-Ru. Hope you like it.

A young seventeen year old by the name of Yuuki Rito was relaxing at home. While this might be normal for most boys his age, it was a rare and precious moment of peace in his otherwise fast paced, exciting and exhausting life. Needless to say, he was savouring every second.

Then Lala, the alien princess who loved him, came down stairs. She seemed to be in a rush though. It remained to be seen if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

"Rito," she called, "I'm going shopping with Haruna."

'Sweet, cute Haruna-chan' he thought as he started to fantasize.

That didn't last long though, as Lala asked "Can you record Magical Girl Kyoko for me? Please." She just sounded so cute, and it wasn't exactly a problem so he agreed.

"Oh, thank you Rito, I love you." She gushed.

"Yeah, yeah, I love you too." Rito responded casually.

"…"

"…?"

"…!"

"Did I just say what I think I did?"

"You just said you loved me. Did you mean it?" She was being extremely serious, acting more like an inter-galactic princess and less like the hyper active girl he knew. This behaviour was very unusual for her, but not exactly new to him either.

Her question caught him off-guard though. She'd never directly asked him about his feelings before, although it shouldn't be much of a surprise considering what he'd just said. But, did he love her? It was a question he'd been asking himself for awhile now, and each day the answer was closer and closer to yes. In fact, whether he loved Lala or not hadn't been a problem for some time now, it was his lingering feelings for Haruna-chan that was stopping him, a feeling of love that wasn't fading either. But that was beside the point. He had just said he loved her and it was his responsibility to be honest with her now.

"Yes, I did. I love you." Rito could feel the burning in his cheeks as he blushed but that didn't stop the pride he felt for saying those words without stuttering.

She let out the most dazzling smile he'd ever seen, gave him a hug and said "Hearing you say that most makes me the happiest I've ever been. I love you so much." Then she kissed him, a sweet innocent kiss and he couldn't help but think how wonderful and Lala-like it was. This was the happiest he'd been in a very long time.

Wrapping his arms around her waist he pulled her close and deepened the kiss.

Lala never did go shopping that day.
