Gokudera Hayato kneeled before the Vongola Decimo's closed casket. He looked up at the darkened grey sky, taking in the storm clouds on the horizon.

Even if the sky were a clear blue, he doubted he would be able to appreciate it. No, the overcast sky was more appropriate for the times. Nothing would ever be the same again.

His fists clenched and he leaned heavily against the casket's lid. He closed his eyes to block out the Vongola crest engraved with the Roman numeral ten. It was too hard to acknowledge. His hair fell into his face, blocking the tears that fell from his eyes.

Gokudera hadn't cried in years. Not since he was in middle school. He was the tenth Vongola's right hand man, and while he knew that Tsuna wouldn't care, he had never had reason to before. Not while his Sky was by his side. The last ten years had been the happiest of his life. All because of Sawada Tsunayoshi.

He had a Boss to protect and he had a family, even if said family was made up of idiots and freaks and was dysfunctional as hell. That hadn't mattered. But now… there was no way the family would hold together without their sky to anchor them.

Yes, Gokudera hadn't cried in a very long time. However, since Tsuna had left them and he was alone in this place, he figured it was alright to show such weakness. Tsuna would not have cared even if he were alive, and now that he was dead, Gokudera didn't need to worry about burdening him with his grief.

Gokudera regretted so many things. He should have been there, by Tsuna's side to the very end. No matter that Tsuna had ordered him away. There was no way it wasn't a trap and they had all known it. Tsuna had insisted on trying to negotiate peacefully in spite of his guardian's disapproval. There had been no stopping it.

And now… Gokudera had to try and find the will to live on in this bleak existence and protect what was left. It was what Tsuna would have wanted. He had to pick up the pieces and gather the other guardians. Gokudera lifted his head and gazed up at the clouds.

His sky was gone, but the storm raged on. He would make Millefiore pay for their betrayal. There would be nothing left in the wake of his fury.

He was uncertain of how he would accomplish such a feat without the Vongola rings, but there was nothing left to lose in the attempt. He was sure that once found and made aware of the situation, the other guardians would agree.

The Millefiore must be destroyed. Not for revenge, Tsuna wouldn't like being avenged. It would be for the Vongola's survival. For the friends and allies still alive.

Gokudera traced the crest, beneath which his sky rested. He would make it right. And if he died trying, at least he knew his Boss would be waiting for him on the other side. There was nothing more he could do for Tsuna now.
