The New God of War

Kratos couldn't believe what was happening. He had just become the new God of War, which was quite an accomplishment, for a mortal to become a God. But there was just one tiny problem… he had no idea what he was supposed to do.

Frustrated and confused, he sought the guidance of Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom. As she entered his chambers, she saw the dirtiest looking chambers she has ever seen. Scraps of parchment with writing of advancements of different armies onto different countries. She picked one up, it looked as though Sparta was advancing on Pers- No, Persia advancing on- she had no idea what she was looking at.

And there, in the middle of it all, the Ghost of Sparta sat, furiously scribbling notes, drawings, calculations, names, etc.

Athena was astounded. One of the tidiest throne rooms on all of Olympus had become a proverbial pigsty.

"Athena! Thank the Gods you came" Kratos said as he rose and approached her. "Kratos, what happened here?"

"You see, that's the problem. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do as the God of War. Should I intervene, not intervene, give an edge, don't give an edge, ARGH, it's all so confusing."

Athena cupped his face."Kratos, calm down, breathe deeply." He breathed shallowly "Deeper." The Ghost of Sparta did as he was told. "Good, another" he did as commanded. The Goddess of Wisdom noticed how close she and Kratos had become. "Uh- Close your eyes." Kratos was taken slightly aback "Pardon?" "Just do as you are told." He did.

'I can't believe I'm about to do this' she thought to herself. Being slightly taller than him, Athena bent down slightly and placed her lips gently against his. Kratos' eyes shot open in surprise.

Not that he was complaining or anything.

They stayed like that for a minute. And, although they were Gods and entirely invincible, they needed air, much to their dislike.

"Athena… what was that for?" the Goddess felt a twinge of fear. "I'm sorry Kratos, but, I have fallen in love with you. I can only imagine how much this disgusts you." She held her head in her hands, crying softly.

Then the God of War did something she never expected from him. He lifted her chin and kissed her even deeper than she had him.

It was passionate, full of love, and caring, all traits Athena didn't think Kratos even possessed.

"I have always thought the Gods were nothing but guiltless thieves, taking from the mortals what they could not have, but after I met you, I have learned that at least one Goddess cares for my well-being."

She was stunned.

"And by the way," he said "I never did need your help"

Well, here's my first story; honestly, I just pulled this out of my butt, and had no idea where this was going when I first started.

Be gentle.
