I wrote this a few years ago... Before OotP was released... And I found it in a drawer. Please enjoy!

The Nightmare

I'm pacing in my cell,
Pacing in the night,
Pacing in the day,
Pacing in the light.

I can't escape the terror,
I can't escape the dreams.
I can't escape that night
When everything ripped at the seams.

I had wakened in a fever.
The feeling I had was bad.
I had a terrible nightmare;
It made me kinda mad.

I dreamed he had betrayed them,
That he had gone to their side.
I dreamed he was a traitor,
I dreamed that he had lied.

I decided to check on him.
When I arrived he wasn't there.
There was no sign of a struggle;
It was just like my nightmare.

My body filled with fear
As I raced towards their house.
The night was very still,
And quiet as a mouse.

I landed at the mess,
Destruction was everywhere.
My heart began to fill with dread,
It was just like my nightmare.

I wandered through the ruins;
It was obvious how they died.
I stood over my best friend's body,
The night filled with my cries.

An arm wrapped around me
And pulled me in close.
My giant friend comforted me;
It's what I needed most.

He also held my godson.
"Let me take him," I said.
He replied that he couldn't
And sadly shook his head.

"He's going to live with his relatives,"
My giant friend informed me.
"Dumbledore's orders, I'm sad to say.
I'm sorry, but this is how it's got to be."

I gave him my motorcycle
So he could bring him there.
I closed my eyes, and started to shake;
It was just like my nightmare.

The next day I hunted down the traitor,
But he caught on, and yelled for the street to hear
That I was the traitor, then killed and fled
Leaving me alone to face my fear.

The aurors came
To take me away.
I was in Azkaban
Before the end of the day.

I looked through the bars
And started to laugh.
The traitor was my idea;
He had fooled me at last.

Now twelve years later,
The irony is gone.
The days are dark
And the nights are long.

I'm pacing in my cell,
Pacing in the night,
Pacing in the day,
Pacing in the light.

I can't escape the terror,
I can't escape the dreams.
I can't escape that night
When everything ripped at the seams.
