Growing Old Ungracefully

----------------------------------------

"ROSE, COME QUICK, I NEED YOU!" shouted the voice from the bathroom as Rose looked up from the book she was reading and got off the bed. Running into the bathroom, she found the Doctor standing in front of the mirror and was looking at his reflection.

"What's wrong?!" asked Rose, getting worried.

"This! This is what's wrong!" shouted the Doctor as he bent down and pointed to the top of his head.

"What? I don't see anything," said Rose, gently running her fingers through his soft wild brown hair.

"What do you mean you can't see it?! It's right there!" shouted the Doctor, pointing to the top of his head and she moved her fingers through his hair then smiled.

"Are you talking about the gray hair?"

"Yes! I'm too young to be getting gray hair!" shouted the Doctor, standing up and she cupped her mouth, trying not to laugh.

"Come on. Everyone gets them when they get older."

"That's just it! I'm getting older! I'm not supposed to get older!"

"Yes, you are," said Rose, sliding her arms around his waist and kissed him.

"This stinks," growled the Doctor as he gently brushed her arms away and turned, looking into the mirror. "First I grunt when I bend over to pick something up then I need glasses to read and, now, this!"

"Well, I could get some hair dye to cover the gray."

"You mean I could finally be…GINGER?!"

"If you want but, truthfully, I think you look very handsome with a little gray in your hair. Makes you look brilliant."

"You think?!" asked the Doctor, taking a closer look at his reflection.

"Yep," said Rose as he did a smug smile then turned, kissing her. She watched him going into the other room then rolled her eyes and headed for the door.

'Good thing he didn't see the gray chest hairs,' thought Rose as she left the bathroom and softly laughed.

-----------------------------------

"Please!"

"No!"

"But…but…but…" muttered the Doctor as he held the jar of wax in his hand and Rose crossed her arms over her chest.

"I KNEW I shouldn't have told you about those gray chest hairs! I just didn't think you'd want to do THIS!"

"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase!" begged the Doctor as Rose moved closer and gently moved her fingers through the soft hair.

"If you get rid of them, I won't have anything to play while you're still sleeping."

"But they're…"

"I know. You have to understand that it's not about the hair. I mean I like running my fingers through it but it's the man it's attached to that I love."

"Rose Tyler, are you saying that you'd love me if I was bald and hairless?"

"Considering the buzz cut you had when we first met, yeah, I would love you bald and hairless."

"Let me get this straight, I have a few gray hair and some gray chest hairs and you don't care?"

"Right," said Rose, kissing him.

"And you'll still love me when I have wrinkles, need bifocals and/or a hearing aid and need help getting out of a chair?"

"Yeah, just like you'll love me when I get that way," said Rose and he placed his arms around her, looking deeply into her eyes.

"Don't slap me but I'd love you even if you looked like Jackie," said the Doctor and Rose gently slapped his chest. She brushed his arms away as she headed into the other room when the Doctor gently moved the elastic of his pajamas bottom out and looked down.

"What are you doing?" asked Rose as she gave him a sly smile and he winced as the elastic snapped back.

"Oh, nothing," said the Doctor as he followed her into the other room and was happy to see there wasn't any gray hair on his…

"Oi, say one more word and this story's rating is going to have to be changed!" shouted the Doctor as he shook his finger at me then left the room, closing the door behind him.
