Sparkles Are Irrational

A BONES Oneshot

No One's POV: In Booth's Car.

Booth was in the drivers seat and Brennan was in the passenger's, their usual seats. Booth kept his eyes on the road, but he felt awkward. Normally right now there would be some argument going on.

"What's goin' on, Bones?" He asked. She turned her head.

"I read this new book last night. It was the most annoying book I've ever read." She told me.

"Which book?" I asked.

"Twilight." She replied. "I mean, I'm OK with vampires, even though the thought of a person being undead and drinking blood is completely irrational, but these vampires sparkle."

"So would you not like me if I sparkled?" He asked.

"No one can sparkle! It's irrational. Sparkles are irrational."

"Well, the sparkling is a minor part of the book." He said. She looked up at him, with an eyebrow raised. "So I've heard."

"And each vampire has a superpower." She continued.

"So if I could read minds-" He started, only to stop when he looked over at her giving him a face.

"And he ignores her because his blood 'sings' to him..."

"It's fiction Bones." He told her.

"I know..."

"I think you're missing the whole plot of the story. Bella comes to the school, and she meets Edward. They fall in love, but they can't be together because she's not a vampire..."

"You read it?" She asked smiling.

"No. I've heard of it."

"You read it." She accused.

"No." He repeated annoyed. He parked in the Jeffersonian Instatute's parking lot. She didn't say anything, she just looked out the window. He sighed. "You're Bella." He struggled to say. "And I'm Edward." He continued. She looked up.

"You love me?" She asked quietly.

"Yeah. I do." He replied. "You are my life." He quoted Edward.

She smiled an leaned in. "I agree with your findings." She kissed him on the lips. "But, I still think sparkles ae irrational." She told him.

"Don't worry. I don't sparkle." He kissed her lips again gently.

"Good." She replied. She pulled open one of the compartments in his car. "A ha!! You did read Twilight." She said pulling out the inch thick book.

"I agree that sparkles are irrational." He said, and got out of the car. She got out her side, and they walked into the Instatute together. Booth's arm around Brennan.

Angela smiled, looking out the window. "I knew giving her that book would be a good thing."
