Falling for You
Butterflies were swarming angrily in his stomach, as he fumbled with his tie, hair falling in his eyes. He cursed loudly, kicking the end of his trunk with his shoe, face wincing in pain. Everything, and he meant everything, had to go right tonight. He could not screw this up.
Cormac wasn't that experienced with the likes of girls, but he knew enough to get by around the ordinary girls he shared classes with. But Hermione Granger, on the other hand? That was uncharted territory, and not one he was sure he wanted to walk into. For Merlin's sakes, she was surrounded boys, all of them ready to defend her if he so much as shot a look her way. He had to tread lightly around them.
But she had agreed, and that was what counted. Cormac sighed, sitting down on his bed, shirt half-buttoned, tie loose around his neck. He pulled it off, letting it float slowly to the floor.
She had the most gorgeous eyes, he though, lying down, his hands rubbing his face tiredly. He had first noticed Hermione when she had entered the Yule Ball, and his heart had leaped up in his throat, lost for words. How could she look so old, so much beyond her years, when she was young? How could she look so beautiful?
He closed his eyes, letting his hands resting on his stomach, slowly slipping his ring off and on. Breathing deeply in the silent room, he waited, drumming his fingers on his stomach.
In less than an hour, Hermione would be on his arm, and he would be the one she was dancing with. Not Potter, or that redhead she always was around. Him, and only him. If everything went right tonight, she would be the one he proudly introduced to his parents as 'girlfriend'.
He could not mess this up.
Hermione was his tonight.
And, hopefully, his forever.
I have no idea where this came from. I was flicking through photos of Freddie Stroma- the boy playing Cormac, for those who don't know. Isn't he hot? And, anyways, this came out. Enjoy it!
