I do not own InuYasha or any of the characters created by Rumiko Takahashi

Close the Door!

InuYasha, his red clothing dusted white, stepped into the small house, carrying an armful of wood. A swirl of fine white snow followed behind him. The lamp in the corner where Kagome was working flickered from the draft, and the flames in the fire pit, leaned low against the stew pot.

"Close the door, InuYasha. It's cold out there!" Kagome said, watching him drop his load of wood into the wood bin.

He secured the door to keep the draft from blowing the bamboo mat open. "Keh," he said. "Definitely cold out there. More wind than snow though." He moved over to the fire pit and added some fresh wood to the fire, then sat down, warming his hands "Stream's almost frozen over. Too cold for fish. I caught a rabbit."

Kagome put down her needlework and walked over to sit next to him. "You want some tea?" She pulled the lid off of the stew pot, and gave the contents a stir. "The stew's not ready yet. But something hot might make you feel warmer. Or I could go heat up the bath water."

Smirking a little, he took her wrist, gently. "I could think of another way to get warm," he said, waggling his eyebrows.

"Bath first," Kagome insisted.

He moved behind her, and swaddled her in his arms. "Why, Koibito?" His lips grazed her neck.

"You're not touching the rest of me with those cold hands," she said, smiling as she wiggled out of his hold. "And especially with those feet!"

Kissing the tip of one ear, she went off to start the fire under the bath water/
