For Saki-chan

Raito has been having some very odd thoughts as of late…

Everyday, as they lay down to sleep, L asks his customary question and turns off the lamp, and in the darkness he finds himself thinking.

The first time Raito wonders about L's life. He wonders about his past, here he comes from, how he got where he is now. It is something anyone would find himself or herself contemplating. It is simply a mild curiosity fueling these thoughts nothing more.

As time progresses, his so-called "curiosity" does too. He finds himself wondering other things about the detective now. He wonders about his taste, his touch, his smell.

The thoughts are routine by now.

The same, typical excuse—curiosity—will now longer do, he knows one night, as he catches himself "wondering about" L's lips.

L sets himself down on the bed next to Raito, and asks, "What do you want, Raito-kun?"

The younger turns his brown eyes on the detective, before replying. "Just you."

The usual smile—or any facial expression at all—misses out on the chance to greet him as Raito pulls the unsuspecting, older male down with him atop the bed and kisses him fiercely.

As they break apart for air, a different smile breaks out across L's face.

"Me too, Raito-kun."

While L turns off the lamp and wraps his arms around the warm body cuddled against him, he wonders vaguely if he is dreaming.

L asks a different question as of late…

Everyday, as they bestow upon one another kisses and the customary affection, L asks a question.

"Do you love me, Raito-kun?"

L always receives the answer he is waiting for.

"Me too, Raito-kun."

"…Aishiteru…"
