A talk over pizza and beer

Chuck was driving around in the Herder trying to find Sarah.

5 hours ago Chuck had downloaded the new Intersect into his brain, somehow developed kung-fu powers, beat up The Ring people, and destroyed his relationship with Sarah.

"Guys, I know kung-fu."

Casey and Sarah just stare at Chuck.

"So...I guess this means you're not leaving." Chuck says looking at Casey.

"Don't remind me."

Casey walks out of the room.

"Sarah..."

Sarah holds up a hand and walks out of the room.

After that point Chuck hasn't seen Sarah.

He's gone to her hotel room, Castle, Casey's Apartment, his apartment, Buy More. Nothing.

His eyes fly over to his Orion watch.

He still didn't quite know how it worked. 'Brain, remind me to ask dad for the user's manual.'

He pulled the car over and did a trace for Sarah Walkers cell phone.

Chuck couldn't believe where the watch said she was. 'Why would she go there?'

An hour and fifteen minutes later he was driving past the Meadows Branch entrance.

Drove to their old cover house and saw Sarah's Porches.

He entered the house to find Sarah in the living room watching TV, drinking beer, and eating pizza.

"Hey." Chuck said.

Sarah's gun flew up.

"Hey! Oh! It's just me."

"That's not helping your case." Sarah puts her gun away. Even in her drunk and angry state she still can't kill Chuck.

Chuck sits down next to Sarah. "Ah, beer and pizza."

Sarah ignores Chuck.

"Sarah, what's wrong? I've never seen you this way."

"Could you please just leave me alone?"

"Not until you tell me what's bothering you."

"YOU'RE BOTHERING ME! Now LEAVE!"

Chuck suddenly felt this aching pain in his chest. He knew it was probably the alcohol talking but it still hurt.

"Okay. I guess you need some more space." Chuck said softly as he stood up.

"No? Really? Wow Chuck, you're such a genius."

Chuck walked slowly to the door with his head down.

"Damnit Chuck, why do you have to be like this?!" Sarah yelled.

Chuck walked back to Sarah.

"Why'd you have to upload the Intersect, again? You were always talking about how you wanted it out of your head and then it was out of your head...you were happy...we were happy."

"I'm sorry. I just didn't want it to get into the wrong hands. I was just..."

"Being a hero?"

Chuck saw the tears in Sarah's eyes. He couldn't believe Sarah was actually crying.

"We could have had a real relationship."

"Why can't we?"

"I'm still your handler. You're still my asset."

"It would be unprofessional."

"I don't like breaking rules."

"You did to help me find my father. What's one my rule broken?"

"My career. I was being selfish. I knew your father was the only one that could that damn thing out of your head. I wanted it out so we could be together. I didn't want to save the world anymore. I wanted to have a life with you, a family, kids, a house in the suburbs." Sarah runs a hand through Chucks curls. "I had to fall in love with the nicest guy in the world who is always thinking about the safety of others before his."

"And I just had to fall in love with a selfish, drop dead gorgeous CIA assassin."

Sarah lays her head on Chucks shoulder. She entwines their fingers. Chuck raises their hands and kisses her knuckles.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be, we're both human. These things happen…to us at least."

"We're one odd couple, you and I."

"That we are, Super Intersectman."

"Ms. CIA Assassin."
