Every time he see her, she was looking at him. He knew she loved him and he loved her back. But he loved her too. Even more than he did, she was his world. So he asked her to be with him because he knew she was too kind of say no. He thought that maybe she will come to love him more. But he was wrong. Her eyes never looked at him with the same sparkle and her cheeks never looked as shy or excited. And because he loved them both, he let go of his world. He kept her to himself for one last day. One last dinner at her favorite restaurant.
"Haruhi. I love you"
She smiles, "I love you too."
His heart broke a little, "but not like you love him."
She looks confused, "what do you mean?"
He took her hand, "thank you for being with me. Thank you for letting me love you. But even someone like me can see that you long to be with him."
He place his lips on her knuckles, his eyes holding back tears.
"Good bye, Haruhi."
He let go of that hand for the last time and walks away. Outside he saw his best friend.
"Why are you…"
"Don't," he cuts him off, "this is the best for all of us. If I stayed everybody would be hurt."
"Don't…"
He raises his hand and stops him. "She's waiting for you. Go to her."
He walks away from his best friend, his love.
"Make her happy, Kyoya"
