The moon swished her way up higher on the sky-road, determined to reach the highest point of the circle. Dark curtains of clouds float across dreamily, but the moonlight still streamed down onto the dark earth.

Shana and Yuji sat on his rooftop again as they studied the stars unblinkingly. This was all just a pretext for being together. Neither spoke a word, though. Yuji wondered if he should break the silence to tell her something that might annoy her. He never knew when she would hit him. Glancing sideways, he looked rather tenderly at her side profile. Her head rested upon her palm as her large eyes gazed upwards towards the heavens. She looked rather nice like that, he thought. And peaceful. So he decided to speak.

"Shana?" He queried nervously.

"Mmm?" She turned towards him. He was rather struck by the way the moonlight that fell on her made her face so ethereally luminous, but he decided to carry on nonetheless.

He produced a rose from behind him and twirled it.

"I found this just now downstairs. I reckon no one wants it anymore. Such a pity, don't you think? It's such a pretty rose."

"Uh huh?"

"It reminded me of you, you know. You look like this rose, as delicate, but like the tiny rose you're actually quite unyielding." With a sudden stoke of inspiration he tucked the blooming rose behind her ear.

She gasped. Did this Torch just place a flower in my hair? What is he doing!

"Yuji!" She growled aloud.

Looking frightened, he mumbled something about going to the toilet, and hastily disappeared.

Left alone, she fingered the pendant hanging around her neck. Hat was Yuji trying to imply? Did he like her? If only that were true… Her fingers found the rose. Holding it before her eyes, she sighed. What a big headache (and heartache) Yuji was.

She kissed the rose.

A/N: Hello! This is the first time i'm writing a Shakugan no Shana fic, so please pardon me if i got anything wrong, cause i haven't watched or read much of the series. This is just a teeny bit of fluff for entertainment ahaha. i'm guessing that both Yuji and Shana are somewhat ooc here, but i'm not too sure about that, so yeahh. Anyway, thanks for reading! :D
