Ok, this is a little warning. Cletus is gonna seem a little O.O.C. this is needed for the plot. Also, remember in this version-he's trying to control the voices so he can go back outside.
Cletus continued to flip his knife as he came into the room. Peter turned back to the girl, Serrenedy, if that even was her real name. She wasn't going to be any help, she had scrambled up the small window ledge and was messing with her watch, which was glowing ominously. She also was on a phone, where did she get a phone?
"This is your room?" Peter tried, switching his attention to the more immediate problem. "My mistake, my honest mistake. I can safely say I would never come in here if I knew this was your room" Cletus stiffened, listening to his voices probably. He growled lowly.
"Our room…mine. Sanctuary. To many, too loud. Why are you here!?" The words were disjointed and confusing, the lunge he made however, was perfectly executed. Spidy senses caused Peter to jump out of the way, the knife soundly embedding itself in the wall. Serrenedy shrieked when he got to close and hew watch started beeping erratically. Cletus growled again, this time at her before he spun back to Peter and even without the knife, he was a bit scary. Peter almost fought him, then he realized that—crazy or not, Cletus would still be a witness to his powers, not to mention that girl. Speaking of the girl, she wasn't doing too well. Her watch had started shrieking and she was curled into the window to point that she was almost through it. "OUT" Cletus hissed and clawed at Peter's face. Peter ducked and chanced a glance up to the girl…whom was no longer a girl, but rather Shadow.
"Oh no" He whispered to himself, and then tried to keep Cletus from looking towards her. He needn't have worried. Shadow swung an arm and encased the psychotic young man in a black web. Peter looked at the closed door worriedly, because now Cletus was screaming. Shadow jumped down easily, producing a needle from nowhere and stabbing the boy in the neck. He calmed instantly and she unwound him and placed him on the bed. "So" Peter said glaring at her. "I guess that answers the question of where the symbiote is…" before he could properly give her the third degree, the inky blackness slid off of her and out through the same window she'd been clinging to moments before. She smirked at him.
"Does it really?" He glared at her, so she smirked and ignoring her still blaring watch she taunted sarcastically "oh noo. You know every possible thing about my master plan. What ever shall I do now? You totally know my motivation and end goal and all my allies oh drat-you totally beat me." She stopped teasing only when Cletus groaned. "Shit that was supposed to last an hour." She ran out of the room holding the door for Peter. "Well come on! You really wanna be in there when he wakes back up?" Peter ran out after her. She walked down the hall fiddling with her wrist and her watch finally went out. She sighed heavily when it did and jumped behind Peter when it began beeping again. "I am so not equipped to be here" She murmured. Peter grabbed her wrist and pulled her into a utility closet. He stopped her yelp with a hand over her mouth.
"Who are you" He hissed in the enclosed space. She glared at him.
"You must go through a lot of girlfriends Mr. Charming—this is so how /I wanna spend my time, talking to you after I expressly said I didn't want to and tried walking away." Her watch was silent again. He shook her.
"You never said or did that, and even if you did—you're a criminal. So I'll ask again—who are you!?"
"Bit of a broken record dear-heart. And I already told you who I was. Not my fault if you weren't paying attention."
"Say it again…slowly" She leveled a glare at him. "Please" He relented. She sighed, then smoothed her hair down, putting back a braid that had flown out during his shaking.
"My name is Serrenedy White. I have come here to…among other things, help out a friend."
"A friend? Are you calling the ooze your friend? You are one twisted lady…not even a lady your…" Peter clicked on the light to fully observe her for the first time. The pink hair was more than a bit jarring, but after that she was all wrong. She was young he realized. Even younger than him, and her face was pulled at all the wrong angles, she was way too thin—in fact the tee-shirt and sweats required for the inmates to wear was swallowing her up. Her face itself was similar. He just couldn't place her exact skin tone, but it was in the back of his head.
"The last time you saw me I had on circular glasses instead of rectangular ones, changes the shape of your face. I also had on a black wig…as I said; I talked to your friend more." Comprehension dawned on his face.
"The girl who ate lunch with us?" She sighed.
"It was supposed to be a simple in and out to get to your locker. The security guard stopped me and dragged me to the cafeteria…you guys have terrible food by the way, it was a good thing I was really hungry. Speaking of which I need to finish that and send it to Rachel…hmmm, maybe if I send it now I'll have enough time to—"
"STAY FOCUSED" She jumped from his volume. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself before addressing her again. "I am confused…you are making me more confused. Let's just stat from the beginning alright? How can you call that…thing a friend. How did you meet it, why are you helping it?" Her glare could cut diamonds at that point.
"You're very human you know." Peter blinked, then tried to thank her, only to get cut off by a hand in his face. "That's not a compliment. Humans shy away from anything different. They seek to destroy everything they can't understand, no sorry—they won't understand anything and try to hurt everything. They're sickening creatures and need to be…" She stopped for a second, her steam gone. Whatever the last word was, it was lost and she rapidly shook her head and quietly said "fixed". She was shaking lightly.
"I'll stop you" Peter said quietly. "Whatever your plan" She scoffed. "Whatever you try" She chuckled. "I will stop you" She looked up at him with clear amusement on her features.
"I don't think so, you've just been playing your part dear, and you've been doing so wonderfully." She seemed to get sad then and looked up at him. "Listen dear; don't try to get in my way. It won't work and it'll just make me upset. Just dance on your web and ignore me, I'll be done before you know it alright. Truce?" Peter looked at her hand in shocked disgust, before scoffing at her and leaving the cupboard, letting the door slam on her. She scowled at it. "Well that was rude; a simple 'no' would have sufficed." She sighed before she pulled out her phone and pressed redial.
"Please tell me you didn't get in trouble again. I barely walked away from the window!" The voice was also female, but very raspy-as if it wasn't used much or raw from talking too much.
"I'm not in trouble, I just need to ask you to pretty please speed up the experiments."
"I don't even know what the hell the experiments are!" You're the one that made them, I'm just observing remember?"
"Well, what were the results?"
"I don't know, I'm not right in front of them as of yet. I do need time to limp back." Serrenedy sighed.
"Understood, phase two still incomplete. Phase one, unable to speed up" She huffed. "Why is this so difficult?"
"'Cause you're nice" A new voice chimed in. This one was low and rough. "I still say you just tie 'em up and prick them full"
"Hi Chis, what are you doing there?
"Hiding—you're having a phone threesome in case you didn't realize." Serrenedy rolled her eyes.
"Well fine then, I shall just be a slut for phone lines."
"Threesome don't make you a slut"
"Guys—the experiments!"
"Looks like you were right" Chris's voice. "It's responding to chemical outputs in the brain, but not in the way you were hoping. Looks like it feeds on the positive emotions leaving only negative ones in its wake." Serrenedy huffed
"Great, just great. That means more testing." She groaned. "I'm ahead of schedule and that puts me behind schedule. Did I finish Raven's machine?"
"I can't tell heads or tails of this shit"
"I'll check it when I get back"
"Thanks" Serrenedy said "you guys are lifesavers." Serrenedy kissed the two through the phone and slipped in back to where it wouldn't be found. She sat in the closet for a bit with her book, making notes and erasing things before she finally left.
