I don't own anything. At all. ~Snowfall in Trabia~

It was a frigid day on the Bika snowfield of Trabia. The temperature was above freezing, true, but the wind-chill was making for a very cold day. Because of this, you wouldn't expect to see any people outside of a nice climate-controlled environment, or even a not-so-nice climate-controlled environment, like the remains of Trabia Garden that could be seen above the snow in the distance. At least not anybody with any amount of common sense.

Selphie Tilmitt was sitting on a bolder, with her knees up to her chin, watching the snow drift gently down from the sky above to land and become intermeshed with all of the snow that already covered the ground. If Hyne had made miracles, this must be one of them. Selphie heard a very soft crunch of snow behind her, signaling that someone was walking towards her. There weren't many people who could track down her secret places, so she thought she had a pretty good idea of who would be looking for her. Selphie spoke without turning around.

"Sometimes I wish that I could cast a Snow spell instead of Blizzard. I know it wouldn't be really good for battle, but ice is just so harsh...What do you think, Irvy?" A low voice answered from over her left shoulder.

"How'd you know it was me, Sefie?" Irvine asked with a smile. Selphie turned around to face Irvine.

"Tromping around in boots isn't real subtle," Selphie teased back, mirroring Irvine's smile.

" I s'pose not," Irvine admitted. A long silence fell between the two as each took the moment to think. There was a lot of things to think about- so much had changed since the previous year.

"But really," Selphie continued, "What do you think?"

"I think you better not let Shiva hear you say that ice is unwelcome," Irvine responded, nodding in a sure manner that was teasing as well.

"Silly Irvine," Selphie chided. Another silence came about, and the two could hear the quiet noise of snow falling, and the almost unperceivable sigh of wind.

"It was a day just like this..." Irvine reminisced, a perfect non- sequitur.

"What was?" wondered Selphie, she had no idea what he was referring to.

"A fateful day in Trabia..." Irvine hinted, hoping she would catch on without him having to explain..

"Oooh... I get it." replied Selphie, realizing what Irvine had been hinting at. It had been a day like this when the Orphanage Gang had been reunited and reminded of their pasts, courtesy of Irvine. He'd had many, and yet so few reasons for telling them the truth. Irvine remember Selphie, and he wanted to know if with a little prompting, she might remember him, too. Selphie remembered something else also. She had overheard her old friend talking to Squall once and still remembered what she had said. "They say days like these bring something special...I got to see Selphie again. Did anything special happen for you?"

Selphie had always been a firm believer in gifts from the faeries. More snow gently fell, sparkling and collecting on Irvine's hat. She could feel that something special would happen today. She closed her eyes and exhaled, silently making a wish of what that 'something special' should be. And Irvine slowly leaned over to kiss her.

I made a wish, and you came true.
