A/N: This is just a sample of a larger CloTi fic I will write one of these days. Working on natural dialogue this time, so please leave love if ya like it or hate it! Dialogue seems to be my major strength in fics. Description...not so much. But I can talk up a storm! :D

"Are you serious?" Cloud shuffled on the couch. "Two thousand and forty-six gil?"

"That's how much it was last time," Tifa replied with a sigh. "you only see it every month,Cloud."

"Damn right I do," Cloud grumbled. "and it's too much for one phone." Tifa gasped.

"One!?"

"Yeah." Cloud nodded solemnly, his face stern. Tifa rushed to him and peered from behind him to read the bill.

"This is for your phone?" she asked. Cloud squinted.

"Uh huh."

"Gods," Tifa shook her head. "that is too much." she thought a moment. "Wait, how long have you seen that bill?"

"For awhile," Cloud responded. He gave a short sigh. "but I didn't know it was just for my phone. I thought it was for the house and yours and mine."

"Me too." Tifa said. They sat in silence. Cloud cleared his throat.

"So..." he offered. Tifa said nothing. He looked at her expectantly and found no trace of emotion. Suddenly, her face lit up.

"Cloud," she said. "why don't you just go to the phone company?"

"And do what?" Cloud asked.

"Omnislash them."

"Huh?" Cloud raised a brow. Tifa laughed, sitting next to him.

"Just wondering what you would say." she said.

"And I said "huh"." Cloud replied.

"Guess so." Tifa bit her lip. "I don't really want to deal with those people right now." she said with a yawn, leaning onto the back of the sofa. Cloud swallowed.

"So, they can just take our money and run." he said.

"Since when do you care?' Tifa said defensively. "It's not like you noticed anything strange about our phone bills." Cloud grunted.

"Why don't we just pay seperate ones?"

"Because we live together." Tifa and Cloud paused, the air went silent for awhile. Tifa blushed as Cloud gazed at her.

"Well, that makes sense." Cloud responded confidently. Tifa let the awkwardness go and put her hands in her lap.

"Guess so." she said.

"You guess too much." Cloud said. "You should be more confident."

"I could say the same about you." Tifa replied lightly. Cloud furrowed.

"What does that mean?"

"Confidence," Tifa explained. "is something you don't really have."

"Oh." Cloud looked down. "Yeah, maybe." he looked stuck in a corner.

"But you're a nice guy!" Tifa said with a laugh, making Cloud's brows raise in amusement.

"Nice guy, huh?" he smiled quickly. "Well, I guess I did save the world." he rubbed his neck nervously.

"Yeah," Tifa continued to smile at him, hoping to make the Cloud she loved shine through the haze of his past. It was almost there. "couldn't have done it without that acquaintance of yours..." Cloud looked at her.

"Who?"

"Tifa...Lockheart!" Cloud smiled at her response, reddening slightly.

"I guess she was pretty instrumental too." he said softly, looking at her shyly. Tifa brushed her hair back and grinned.

"Guess?" she giggled. "Where's your confidence?"

"Uh oh," Cloud said. "I...guess.......I forgot." he smiled again. Tifa was awash with joy. His pleasure made her all the more comfortable. Cloud grunted and sighed pleasantly as she thought this. "But not everything." he looked at her affectionately, and Tifa watched the mako in his eyes dissipate, slowly revealing a more innocent and confident country boy...
