Nightmare

SniffSniff…"It better be a lot later then it feels," eight year old Dean Winchester said to himself as he looked at the clock. No such luck, the clock read 2:15 am. SniffSniff "For the love of AC/DC what the hell is making that noise?" He turned his bedside light on, and quickly glanced around the motel room. Only to find that noise had been his four-year-old brother Sam. He was crying?

"Sammy? You alright?" Dean asked getting up from his bed and taking a seat next to Sam.

"I had a bad dream," Sam replied solemnly.

"What was it about?"

"I got chased by a scary clown," Sam replied wrapping his arms around Dean's waist. "It was really scary," Sam said sobbing into Dean's shoulder. Dean felt a pang of guilt as he rubbed his brother's back. He should have known that making Sam watch It was a stupid idea.

"It was just a dream," Dean assured.

"Are monsters real?"

"No." He can find out when he's ready.

"Do clowns really kill?"

"Only on TV."

"Can you get dragged into the TV?"

"No." Making Sam watch Poltergeist wasn't a good idea either.

"Promise?"

"I promise."

"Thanks Dean."

"No problem. Come on, let's get back to bed."

"Can I sleep in your bed tonight?"

"Sure." Sam happily climbed into bed, snuggling up next to Dean. "Night Sam."

"Night Dean, I love you."

"I love you too Sammy." Sam quickly fell asleep in his older brother's arms, with a content smile on his face. I have the best big brother in the world.
