The night sky was beautiful in Idris. You could see every star clearly, making it seem like you were closer than you actually were. Clary was laying on the grass just outside Alicante, thinking over what happened over the past few days. Jace wasn't her brother, the thought filled her with joy. Her heart felt like it would burst with the revelation.

She had kissed her brother, though, as Simon had so helpfully pointed out. What made Clary's skin crawl, however, was that Sebastian had known Clary was his sister. Why the hell would he have kissed her?

She shook her head. No need to think about that now.

Clary sighed happily into the night, closing her eyes; her mother was awake, she could be with the one she truly loved, she was gonna finally become a true Shadow hunter. Her life felt complete.

Someone came and sat beside her and she didn't need to open her eyes to know it was Jace; the way her body reacted was proof enough.

They didn't say anything for a while, just sitting. Eventually, Clary reached out and took Jace's battle-worn hand, lacing their fingers together. It felt so right, the way their fingers fit together so perfectly. It had been a cruel cosmic joke before, when they thought they were related, but now it was perfect. There was no better word.

Clary finally opened her eyes to find Jace looking down at her, a small smile on his perfect lips. He truly looked like an angel now, the way his light blonde hair was framed in the moonlight. It looked like it was glowing. He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on Clary's lips, nothing like the kisses they'd shared in the field in front of Wayland Manor. Those had been rough and full of passion; this was a kiss shared between lovers, a silent reminder.

He stayed above her for a while, every so often placing kisses around her face. She felt the love coming off of him in waves. She moaned when his lips pressed to the pressure-point on her neck and he glanced up, his eyes smoldering with desire. He caught her lips in a passionate kiss now, their tongues dancing in a way that should be illegal. She gripped at his light shirt, attempting to bring him closer. His hands were everywhere then, playing with her, teasing.

She could feel his heart fluttering against his ribs, matching pace with hers. They were in sync.

His shirt was quickly discarded, Clary's hands rubbing over his well sculpted back and shoulders. He moaned, the vibrations sending shivers down her spine. She needed him. Right. Now.

"Jace," she gasped out.

He broke away, staring into her eyes for a long time.

"Please," she begged. "I need you."

He grinned down at her, his hands playing with the hem of her shirt. His fingers were going steadily downward, tracing the edge of her jeans. She gasped, warmth spreading between her legs like wildfire. She pulled Jace's lips back to hers, grabbing for the buttons of his jeans.

They were going to be together for real now, and if they weren't, Clary was likely to explode.

But as soon as that thought came, it went. Because at that precise moment, Jace entered her and she had never felt so complete in her life. And as they tumbled together over that field, becoming one again and again, Clary knew she would always feel complete as long as Jace was there.

And so they fall into forever.
