note: When I wrote the chapter 29, I was listening to Kokia - Time to Say Goodbye. When you guys read this chapter, you can listening the song too xD

That night, the twins and Judai were ready and in bed. The times before the children had been clingy with her, but the girl felt a little bit strange when the twins were clingier than before. However, she shrugged it off and let them resting their head on her lap believing that they were being fussy.

"Mommy, where's daddy?" asked Lua. Luca both asked while the little girl hugged Hane Kuriboh to her chest, "we haven't see him since we brushed our teeth together earlier."

Judai blinked at them before she realized Johan wasn't there in her room. He had promised he would stay there until the twins left the island so he couldn't be back at his dorm. He always kept his promise. She pursed her lips, "Maybe he needs a fresh air outside… Or maybe he need to pick more clothes from his dorm to bring here…" Judai stroked the twins' hair and smile so they won't worry.

Lua and Luca looked at each other. They had fallen silent and begun playing with their fingers. "Umm, mommy… actually…" Luca couldn't finish her sentences.

Judai slid her index finger under the girl's chin, having her look up at her, "hmm? What is it, Luca?"

The little girl couldn't continue after she saw Judai's smile. Lua had understood his sister's feeling, yet they needed to say something about leaving the island. After a minute of not saying anything, "we… will go back tomorrow…" Lua continued, and the room was dead silent.

Judai's face grew pale at the words and her hands stopped stroking the childerens' hair. Lua and Luca hid their face on Judai's lap then, their little hands gripped their mommy's nightdress so tight. Surprise, sad, and… disappointment swirled within Judai's heart. She had no idea how to express these emotions. She felt the twins' hands had started to tremble.

They felt what she feels.

"That's good, isn't that? You will meet your mom and dad again!" Judai cheery voice still couldn't make the twins show their face to them. Heart sinking into her stomach, Judai started to stroke their hair again, "Don't be sad… We will meet again someday." now the kids couldn't hold back their tears.

"Hey now. We will meet again, we'll keep in touch, contact each other, mail each other, and..." Judai began until she was, once again, cut off.

"No, we can't..." Lua's sudden answer made Judai fall silent once again. She tried to understand Lua's word.

We can't? Why?

Judai hadn't been able to question about the confusing line to the kids since their sobbing grew louder. Judai hugged them so tight and let the twins cry on her shoulder.

"... Maybe we can't see each other or contact each other... but you know...? We can remember each other..." the kids looked up to their mommy with tears on their cheeks as Judai smiled warmly down at them, pulling them closer to her body.

"I'll never ever forget about the twins I met in Duel Academy's Cafeteria... The twins I walked with around the academy together with Johan, having a duel with before we go to sleep, having breakfast, lunch, and dinner even snack together in cafeteria. The twins I'd love to hug forever... the twins who call me 'mommy' and call Johan 'daddy'..." slowly tears started to flow down on Judai's cheek. She still wore her smile on her face yet her tears couldn't stop.

She continued, though her voice cracked with each word, "...a sweet little girl who I'd love to brush her hair before goes to sleep..." Judai kissed the top of Luka's head before turning to Lua, "and a high-spirited little boy who I'd love to share jokes together... Both of you will always in my heart..." she then pressed a kiss atop his head.

They hugged each other like never want to separate, "I'll miss you…" Judai whispered softly.

Only the twins cries was heard from the room. The wind blew through the forest, carrying the sound of the sadness across the campus that night.

Fifteen minutes to midnight, when Lua and Luca had gotten up carefully so they wouldn't wake Judai. The twins had gone to bed in their clothes after Judai went to sleep; they were ready to go to their meeting point with Misawa. Luca stood near the bed then, her eyes on her sleeping mommy. Carefully the twins kissed Judai on her cheek and left the dark room before tears flow down from their eyes again.

E-Hero and Hane Kuriboh watched them in silence before exchanging looks. Hane Kuriboh's eyes were starting to mist over with E-Hero nodding and patting the creature on his head.

It's so hard to say goodbye to someone they really love.

Luca's almost voice cracked when she whispered to Judai from the door before she closed it carefully in progress, "Good bye, mommy..."

Lua and Luca had run quietly from the dorm while they followed the lamplight across the forest until they found the main street to the Academy. The hill as their meeting point with Misawa seen not too far from there, so they continued their steps. When they arrived they saw Misawa stood with the time machine in his hand, waiting the twins.

Lua and Luca stopped as they saw Misawa smile to them from top of the hill. They approached him in slow steps. The teen sighed as he saw the tear-stained faces from the kids. He knew how hard it was for them to say goodbye to their parents. Misawa knelt down and hugged them tight, "Be good kids in the future, okay? Take care... and send my greatest regards to me and your parents on the future."

Sobbing was heard from Misawa's shoulders where the man felt his clothes become wet by the twins tears. Misawa smiled yet had tears in his eyes too. He allowed the twins to hug him tight, cry and wait until they let him go.

"Okay... this is the time... Please let me know that this time machine can work as good as before and take you back to your own time," Misawa set the time machine and helped Lua wear it on his wrist hand, "Good luck, kids!" Misawa stepped away from Lua and Luca as the time machine started glow. The kids were covered by a blinding bright light.

"Thank you very much, uncle Misawa!" Lua shouted as his sister waved her hand and had her other hand hugged Lua's hand. The twins felt their body began to float in the air, getting higher and higher. Misawa waved his hands to the twins as the light grew brighter. Lua and Luca gave him bright smile as a farewell, but before the light could have blined their eyesight, the twins could see clearly from above that Johan stood near the bottom hill looking up to them.

Lua and Luca couldn't hide their surprise face, "daddy?"

Johan raised his hand and waved to them with smile on his face along with Gem Beasts on his side.

"Daddy! Goodbye! We love you and mommy...! Always!" The twins wave their hands to Johan as they floated higher and were gone from Johan's sight slowly. The light vanished along with the twins, back to their own time.

Misawa walked to where Johan stood. A surprise expression shown from Misawa's face, "you... you know about this...? Since when?"

Johan closed his eyes in silence before he smiled and looked at Misawa, "Thank you very much... for helping my kids back to the future..."

Misawa still looked at his friend in surprise. Johan sat on the grass and looked up to the sky, to the spot where the twins gone, "when Lua and Luca came over to your place for the second time... When all the students were gathered on the DA's meeting hall, I was about to inform you to join the meeting after I looked for the twins, yet I couldn't find them in the cafeteria or Judai's dorm. Not until when I was about to knock your opened door, I saw you with the twins inside talking about a 'time machine'. So I just stood outside your room and heard everything."

The gem beasts looked at Johan and Misawa in silence from their spot. They still remembered Jesse's face when he came over to Johan's place and told him about the twins he found on his castle, and when Johan told him the truth about the kids.

Misawa fell silent, he sat near Johan and sighed, "So... will you tell Judai about this...?"

"Nope... it will be better if she doesn't know about her future kids..." Johan replied, shaking his head with Misawa arching a brow at him.

"Err... why is that...?" asked Misawa again.

Johan smile wide, "Because I want this as a surprise for her in the future..."

In the darkness world, Jesse sat near the twins bed while they're sleeping peacefully. The king had a gentle smile on his face as he stroked his son's hair while he asleep. Slowly, a bright light suddenly covered the twins' bodies. Jesse could see that they were disappearing slowly from his sight. It was then he knew, it meant the twins in Johan's dimension were back to their time, to the future.

"Good bye... children...," he whispered to his beloved ones as their body were gone from the bed and the light disappeared from the room. He had no idea what was the feeling he felt, until a tear came down from his eyes...

The first time he felt like this was when Jaden still on her deep slumber back then...

This is the second time he understand what the meaning of loneliness...

He remembered the warm feeling when Leo jumped, hugged him, and looked him up with admiration and pride on his eyes along with when Luna grabbed and hid under his cloak because she felt safer when she with him. He still remembered their laughs and steps along the dark hall.

Now the king sat alone, facing the empty bed with two small pillows still warm. Jesse wiped his tears and stood gallantly. He had his charisma back.

"We'll meet again... the heirs of Darkness Kingdom... Prince Leo and Princess Luna..." the King walked to the opened door where he left the empty room and closed it, locking it.

He'll be waiting for the time when the room can be used again for his heirs.

In the twins' current time, Dr. Misawa Daichi was in panic with his eyes trained on the clock hanging above him. He was pacing back and forth running his hands through his hair at each tick of the hands. His friends would be arriving any moment now to pick up their children, yet Lua and Luca still were not there. Pulling at his hair, Misawa spoke to himself, "God what should I say to them? Oh I know! Hey, Johan! Judai! I sent your children back to the past to meet you as teenagers and they may be stuck there permanently!"a bitter laugh left the man beforea knock caused Misawa let out a tiny anguish scream. He turned his head towards the camera monitor where he saw that Johan and Judai standing outside his lab, the colour drained from his face, "THEY'RE HERE..."

"Hi, Misawa! It's us, Johan and Judai!" the cheerful voice and a happy face from Johan had Misawa's features pinch, yet he couldn't hide the truth forever. So he walked to the front door while he thought of what he should say to his friends about the twins.

"Please, kids make in time! Make. It. In. Time," he prayed, now he stood before the door. Misawa had taken a deep breath before opening it.

'Okay... calm down... or they'll find out, Misawa... Just relax...' he lectured himself before he opened the door.

"JUDAAAI! JOHAAAN! It's so nice to see you back from your duty overseas!" Misawa tried his best to fake his worry. It started to crumble from Johan hugging him and Judai giving him a warm smile.

"Yeah, buddy! We're really sorry to trouble you with babysitting the twins. Thanks again for doing it, you're a wonderful friend. And I have some souvenirs for you!" Johan raised a big bag from his side presenting it proudly to the other man.

"Well, where are the twins?" asked Judai as she looked around. She raised a hand to her lips when she saw no signs of the twins. Her gaze rested onto Misawa as her lips curved into a frown behind her hand.

Misawa almost let out scream as he received the souvenirs on his hand; he stammered while he opened the door wider for his friends, "Oh! They're, um, they still playing in my lab! Y-you must be tired! Why don't we have a tea together?"

Johan and Judai exchanged looks before Judai asked, "In your lab? Is that okay? I mean they can be careless and break something or...?"

"Noooo! Nononono! They won't of course! They're really nice and smart kids! I'm sure they won't do that... Come on inside!" Misawa cut Judai's worry about her children as he moved around and pushed his friends inside his house.

"Wow... you never change Misawa. Always full of study and research everyday," Judai looked around Misawa's house, where every inch of his living room was filled to the brim with all kinds of inventions. He even made a coffee or tea machine by himself that started to brew after Misawa walked past it. Johan and Judai stared wide-eyed at what they saw that caused Misawa to grin and rub the back of his head during which a blush had started to form on his face.

"We really proud to have a friend like you. You just never gave up reaching your dream." Judai smiled when she saw some of Misawa's pictures with his friends when he received an honour as a scientist.

"It's all because... I have friends who always give me courage and believe in me..." Misawa stood with pride near of his pictures that had Judai and Johan in them; this made the couple smile back to him.

They chatted for almost an hour in the living room where they were talking about their trip and works, when they met Asuka and Manjyoume with their son Sly, reminiscing about their school days. Laughter filled the room until it started to quiet down after Misawa finished the last of his tea.

"Aah, I remember when we graduated! Johan yelled to you Judai about if you would you marry him right after he received the certificate from principal on the stage!" Misawa laughed at Judai blushing at the embarrassing yet wonderful memory.

"What? I was serious that time!" Johan added, crossing his arms with him looking away and made Judai giggled.

"Aaah... I really missed our friends..." Misawa sighed setting his cup down. A small smile stretched his lips though his shoulders slacked. He glanced over at the empty chairs, which made his smile disappear.

"Ah, I almost forgot... Where are the twins?" Judai's sudden question made Misawa choke.

"OH! Th-they are... Maybe still in my lab!" Misawa tried to hold them back for a moment longer, but of course it hadn't worked since the parents had risen from their chairs. So he tried to make more time by walking slowly to his lab with Judai and Johan. He saw that both parents' faces were now pinched at the brow, making him gulp. When they arrived on the lab's door, Misawa gripped his hands and prayed silently, hoping the kids had already arrived.

"Please... make it in time, kids..." he whispered to himself.

When they opened the door, suddenly a bright light blinded them from inside the lab. Lua and Luca floated from the the middle of the light to where their feet hit the floor and the light vanished. The time machine on Lua's wrist hands stopped and cracked right down the middle after they stepped from the platform of Misawa's laboratory.

"KIDS!" Misawa ran inside and hugged them tight and the twins hugged him back. Their arms wrapped around Misawa's shoulders when Misawa had taken a deep breath and knelt down beside them.

"Uncle Misawa! I'm so sorry...! I didn't mean to break your time machine or play with it... I'm so sorry...!" Lua almost cried as he handed the time machine onto Misawa's hand after they pulled away from each other.

Tears forming in his eyes, Misawa waved it off and laid the machine down hugging them yet again, "Hey, it's okay! You helped me prove it could work, so thank you... But please never do that again!" he cried. Misawa again pulled away to ruffle up Lua's hair.

"Umm... did we miss something...? What was that light...?" The twins looked at the door. They screamed in joy when they saw their parents standing there. Lua and Luca ran and hugged their parents tightly.

"Oh, I really missed you two!" Judai kissed their forehead sand hugged them back.

"We missed you too, mommy, daddy!" Judai looked at the twins puzzled when she saw tears came from their cheeks. Lua and Luca hugged them tight squeezing some air out of their parents. Judai and Johan looked at each other though they shrugged it off since they had been gone for some time. They rarely ever saw their children so the reaction was normal. Misawa was smiling in relief at the family reunion in front of him.

Johan held his children's hands and walked to their car while Judai remained where she was to have a little chat with her scientist friend. She gave Misawa their friends' new contacts so he could schedule a time to see them. She gave him another hug before following after her family.

Lua and Luca walked at their daddy's sides in silence. They were remembering when the teen Johan waved his hand from top of the hill to them. They still questioned that time. Did he really know that Lua and Luca were his children based in how he looked at them when they were leaving.

"So...?" Johan's short question surprised the twins. They looked up to their father to which both gave him a curious glance. Johan released the kids' hands when they neared the car and knelt down, "... how was the past...? Did you have fun?"

Lua and Luca stared up at their father who only winked at them. They smile widely at Johan and in unison replied, "it was awesome, dad!" Judai raised her eyebrows when she saw Lua and Luca giggled and hugged their father, yet they placed their index finger on their lips.

On their way home, Lua and Luca hummed a song that made Judai's face lit up as a memory came to the surface from the song yet it was fuzzy in detail. She became curious at when Johan joined the twins humming. She turned to the twins then, "What song is that? I feel as if I remember it from somewhere..."

Johan smiled, "it's Duel Academy's March Song, have you forgotten?"

Judai laughed lightly at the song's source until she blinked a couple times where she stared at her children, "How do you know that song...?"

"That's a secret," Lua and Luca giggled.

Johan chuckled as he kept driving while Judai looked at her husband puzzled. She drummed her fingers atop her thigh at that her husband's chuckling was in unison with her children. Johan glanced over at his wife, shrugging his shoulders, "Well our days at Duel Academy were unforgettable, right Juu-chan? Especially when we babysat a pair of twins who called us 'mommy' and 'daddy'...!"

"Of course I remember. I named Lua and Luca because of them..." Judai replied, smiling at the memory the memory. She always kept her promise to remember the twins she had met as a teen, "I promised myself that I'll always remember them, forever."

"So do you still remember when you duelled with them before going to sleep, mommy?" asked Lua.

"And do you still remember you always ate in cafeteria together with daddy?" Luca continued, "...and when daddy had a duel with that evil senpai of yours! And when both of you had an awesome duel together! Oh, and you always brushed the little girl's hair before go to sleep too, do you remember?"

As the twins asked more and more questions, they made Judai more confused. She waved her hands in front of her with wide eyes at her children, "Wa, wait! How did you know about all of these? Did Misawa tell you?"

"How could he? Misawa was always locked in his room back then, remember?" Johan answered calmly while a grin appeared on his face.

"But... Maybe... did you tell them about this?" asked Judai to her husband and she received a headshake from Johan as an answer, "Then... did you... tell Misawa...?" Johan had shaken his head one more time to answer his wife's question.

Judai had fallen silent after she faced forward.

'No, it couldn't be...' Judai thought looking at her children from the rear-view mirror above her. She saw the two grinning at her. She then looked over at her husband who also wore a grin. Judai parted her lips though nothing came out. She squinted as sunlight hit her eyes that had recall the bright light in Misawa's lab with the twins stepping out of it. And then heard an apology and the twins hugged her friend after Lua mentioned he broke something. Her mouth hung open at remembering he had said 'time machine'.

"No way..." was all she said as her head hit the headrest.

Their car kept moving toward Neo Domino City, just like the time always would do towards the future.
