"Are you telling me that I get unlimited text messages with this phone?" Yuffie asked.
"Yes and it's ten dollars cheaper than the other unlimited text plans out there," the salesman said cheerily.
That was the beginning of Reno's personal hell.
It had started with a simple text.
Luv ya Turkey!
Nothing wrong with that but then Yuffie started sending him endless messages.
LOL old man spit out dentures! I'm getting up now! U cook dinner tonite. Smileys! Frownies. I'm a sad panda. Turkey wats a Labradoodle? Here's a pic of my tush in a new pair of jeans, does it look too big? Kisses! Penguins have a membrane that convert salt water into fresh water. If I'm the Great Ninja Yuffie what are you great at? Lil Bunny Fufu! I'm bored! Great Googly Moogly Re, look at this pimple on my forehead, it's ginormous! I took care of it. If you were gay, who would you fall in love with? I'd choose Tifa if I played for the other team. Texting rox!
And on it went. The Turk started to cringe every time he heard the beeping noise indicating he had gotten another text message. Then there was the time she had sent him twenty texts when he was in a meeting with Tseng and Rufus. It had to stop. Someway, somehow Reno was going to free himself and Yuffie from texting's hold over their relationship.
"Zip A Dee Doo Dah, Zip A Dee Ay, my oh my what a wonderful day," Yuffie sang as she bounced through the front door, fingers racing over the keypad on her cellphone. Shutting the door with her left foot, she saw Reno on the couch and danced over to him.
"Yuffie, we need to talk." Yuffie stopped singing when she heard the serious tone in Reno's voice. But she was still texting. "You need to stop texting so much, it's starting to drive me crazy."
"You act like it's an addiction," Yuffie replied. In response Reno took out an orb of red Materia. It took Yuffie over a minute to reach out and grab it. Her eyes widened as she realized she was still texting with one hand. "Okay, maybe I have a problem. But what am I supposed to do about it?"
Reno took out a hammer and pried Yuffie's cellphone from her hands. With a swift but firm strike the phone was nothing more than plastic and silicone.
"Don't worry, I'll buy you a new one later on," Reno said after he took in Yuffie's glare.
"So what am I going to do for fun now?" Yuffie asked. Here Reno smirked and his aquamarine eyes glinted.
"We're going to be doing something together, something that doesn't require technology." Reno moved closer here after putting the hammer on the floor. "All it requires is flesh and blood," Reno continued, whispering into Yuffie's ear. Yuffie turned a bright shade of red then.
"That sounds interesting," she replied. Reno nodded before kissing her fiercely on the lips.
