a/n: This was written awhile ago for twilight100 on LiveJournal. Maybe someone will like it ;). There's not enough Nessie/Nahuel that doesn't end up with Jacob/Nessie.

Hide and seek was best with Nahuel.

Her family, with their pure stillness and no need to breathe, always won. Jacob, intent on pleasing her, always lost.

With Nahuel, they were even— fair and square.

Nessie peered carefully through brambles, heedlessly scratching clothes. She had been crouched here for ages, sun warming her neck, and he was nowhere to be seen.

It happened fast; a twig's snap, three level footfalls behind her. All pretense of hiding was given up as Nahuel's hand wove through her hair and she stepped fluidly backwards— into him. Where there was no need to hide.
