Kuran Kaname looked at a rose. It was pale lavender reminiscent of a certain hunter's eyes. It even mimicked the hunter in the deadly thorns that sprouted from the stem. The same deadly beauty he always saw in the hunter. In between his pale fingers the blooming flower looked lonely, a feeling the pureblood knew only too well. Not that he would admit it to anyone besides his sister.

The rose, he knew it would not last long. Just like its creator and he knew that if he solidified it in resin that the fleeting beauty would be lost. Just like he knew he would never see him again.

Not after Kiryuu Zero had decided to kill all purebloods. Not after he pointed his gun at Yuuki. Not after the rose vines he had created tore off Kaname's hand.

He knew that.

So why did he want to keep the only rose that had been grown from the rose bushes?

"To remember the one who I will kill when he points his gun at my Yuuki." Whispered the pureblood softly. Even though he knew that it wasn't the reason.

Blood Bonds are fickle things.

A/N: Sorry got a random attack by a plot bunny but no idea why I wrote this... Any help about writing Kuran Kaname is welcome... I wanted a bit of practice with him I guess.

And how do you spell Zero's family name? I've seen it romanized as Kiriyu but I've always wrote it Kiryuu for some reason... Kiryu just looks short and strange to me but can you help?

I cherish any and all opinions! Even If I don't agree with them I still wanna know.
