Title: German unity

Pairing: Ludwig/Gilbert

Summary: The wall is finally open and Ludwig sees his brother for the first time after years of being divided.

Author Note: Well, I needed some fluff with those two after always seeing MADs were Gilbert doesn't exist anymore ;___;. I hope nobody is surprised about Ludwig's first sentence, I'm the opinion that he definitely thinks that it is his entire fault for not listening to his older brother advices (especially in WW 1).

I hope it is enjoyable to read, that's my first try in this fandom :D.

„I don't care if you don't like me anymore, or even if you hate me, but please, please don't leave me again!!!"

A silver haired man with slightly dull purple eyes turned around.

He first seemed contemplating what was going on, looking as if he had just seen something unbelievable – which he did, mind you – before he started to walk over with determination radiating from his every step.

He began to speak, at the beginning almost too quiet to be heard by the one who had called him out, but growing louder with each word.

"…I dreamed of you…created you, raised and protected you…I would go dying if that saved you. How or exactly why should I ever do such a thing…Bruder?"

The last word was spoken with care, almost uncertainty if this was real.

A gentle smile spread over the walking man's face, hurting Ludwig down to the bottom of his heart.

A short cry full of sorrow and happiness escaped the younger one and within minutes he had run over, throwing his arms around the smaller man now in front of him, hugging him as if live it-self depended on it. Which it probably did at that moment.

Both didn't know how long they stood there, bodies pressed together, hands gripping roughly at each other, eyes finally meeting after a long, worrisome time.

Tears were running down the taller ones face, while the smaller one grinned up, whipping his own away before he put both of his hands on the red cheeks of his little brother.

Gently, he rubbed the wet off, never losing eye contact with the blue deeps in front of him.

"Hey, hey, aren't you too old to do that now?"

Gilbert couldn't stop grinning, it only became bigger and bigger as he memorized his brother's face, his look, him simply being there so close after such a long time where neither had known it they would ever see each other again, without walls, fences and watchful eyes trailing behind their every step.

Freedom never tasted sweeter, Gilbert thought as he pulled his brother down for a fierce kiss.
