Unknown to many, Konoha's Beautiful Green Beast, Rock Lee was passive aggressive. Life had dealt the genius of hard work a rotten hand and it pissed him off. He never did anything about it, but work hard and smile and bottle up his ugly, angry and hateful thoughts. He was nice to everyone, including those he loathed and envied, and careful to be very polite and non offensive, but deep down inside he was raging.

So to counteract his raging, Lee often played make-believe in his head. This way everyone was guaranteed to be safe and he wouldn't get the urge to accidentally drink someone's sake.

Sometimes Lee would imagine his eyes turning bloody red with spinning dots whenever he got angry. In this fantasy, he'd hold Sasuke Uchiha captive in his mind and torture him for hours, forcing him to remember the brutal massacre of his family and reveling in his screams.

Other times Lee would imagine his eyes being near colorless and veins appearing near his temples whenever he was jealous. In this fantasy, he'd take his time and close every single one of Neji Hyuuga's charka holes and finally force a solid palm into Neji's chest, pulling out the heart that everyone doubted existed.

But in real life, Lee's eyes never turned red or were colorless. His eyes were the same dull dark color as always. In real life, Lee worked hard and bobbed his head to whatever Gai-sensei said. In real life, Lee smiled and waved at Sasuke whenever Sasuke came around, even though the Uchiha never waved or smiled back. In real life, Lee praised Neji for his genius and challenged his eternal rival at every turn.

In real life, Lee thought dark dangerous thoughts and called Sasuke and Neji really bad names and fantasized about their deaths. No one ever knew or caught the lingering darkness in Lee's eyes as he looked at them because Lee was good at pretending and after all, it was just his imagination.
