Crayons

---

Who doesn't like when mom buys a fresh box of crayons? I proudly marched into class with my Power Rangers backpack and the amazing box of 64 crayons in my hands. I'll be admired by everbody and Mitchie will be oozing of envy. When coloring time rolled around I pulled out my box which was greeted by the 'Ooo's and 'Aww's of every mouth.

"Alright class. I want you to draw the scariest monster!" Miss. Queen Tibby told us as she passed around white construction paper. "It could be a friendly scary monster or a not so nice monster. Anything you want."

I turned to Mitchie who scowled at my box of crayons that I'll be sharing with my table. She turned a light shade of purple before she turned around to her box of 8 crayons.

I grinned at my table mates.

"I'm gonna draw the dragon we slew!" Ben cried.

"I'm gonna draw the monster in my closet!" Matt grabbed a crayon.

"What are you gonna draw, Shane?" Kayla smiled at me.

I picked up a purple crayon labeled Lavender, "You'll see."

"That is a ferocious dragon Ben!"Miss. Queen Tibby applauded Ben as he presented his drawing, "Thank you for sharing!"

Ben proudly walked back to our table.

"Shane? Come up here and show us your monster." Miss. Queen Tibby waved me over.

I threw a smirk at Mitchie whose monster had plain 8 colors. Nothing like how mine turned out.

I lifted my picture up for the class to see the explosion of colors and a purple faced, pig-tailed monster I drew.

"Wow, Shane. That's a lot of color. Where does this monster live?" My teacher asked.

"Here." I smiled.

"Here? What's its name?"

"Mitchie!" I announced.

Nobody told me I wasn't allowed to not draw Mitchie. It's not like she was a monster. She just had a purple face when she saw my crayons that it made her look like a monster. I sulked in the time out corner as I watched Mitchie cry and my mom shake her head at me.

Drats.

I don't think I'll be getting my box of crayons back.

Troublesome Shane.
