Who Said it had to Make Sense?
Alice was just getting used to the strange tea party's that the Mad Hatter seemed to be constently throwing. He threw one everyday even if it was only him attending. And he had told her that he'd even had one without himself once as he had been unable to make it that day. She wasn't sure if that was possible but she had already learned that it was not best to ask some questions to the Hatter. Sometimes the answers only lead to more questions.
"Is Mr. Hare coming today?" Alice asked, looking across the table at the Mad Hatter. At the moment the only people at the so called party where herself and the hatted man
"I believe he is." The Hatter said after a moment of thought. "I'm sure he'll be here in a minute."
Alice nodded and then took another sip of her tea before continuing. "Well I'll have to go soon. My mother's getting me to help her clean the house later today." The expression on her face made it very clear what she thought of that idea.
"I've been meening to ask you about that." The Hatter spoke up after a moment and Alice looked over curious.
"Ask what Mr. Hatter?"
"Where do you go when you return to your home?"
Alice paused for a moment as her answer was going to be rather strange. However a moment later she realized just who it was she was talking to and continued.
"The same way I get here. Through a mirror."
The Hatter nodded as this was a perfectly acceptable method of travel. "Interesing....So you live...inside Wonderland?"
Alice frowened. "What do you mean? I don't live inside Wonderland. I live in my house."
"Well if you reach your house by going through a mirror in Wonderland then wouldn't that mean that you yourself live inside Wonderland." The Hatter folded his arms while Alice seemed to be thinking this over.
"Well maybe, but I go through the mirror in my room to get here too. Wouldn't that mean that Wonderland is inside my room?"
The Mad Hatter chuckled. "Now Alice that's just silly. If your home is inside Wonderland then Wonderland can't be inside your home as well."
"But you don't know that my house in inside Wonderland."
"Of course it is."
"But how do you know?" Alice asked, exasperated at the lack of logic this conversation seemed to be in.
"I don't." The Hatter responded in the same sure tone. "But I think that's where it is, so I'll stick to that for the moment."
Alice just shook her head as she watched the Hatter pour himself another cup of tea. This argument was really never going to get anywhere. "Fine." She sighed holding out her tea cup for the Hatter to fill it as well. "But I don't think it is."
The Hatter nodded. "We shall agree to agree to not to agree." It took Alice a few moments to wrap her mind around that statment but after a moment she nodded with a smile.
"Allrighty then." The Hatter said as he finished pouring the tea. "That's settled."
Alice shook her head and decided to change the subject. "Do you know where Mr. Hare said he was going?"
"I think he was paying a visit to the Catterpiller....."
The conversation shifted off of the strange topic it had been on only a while ago. And soon both Alice and the Hatter had forgotten about the question of, where Alice's house and were chatting about other things.
