Pair: Implied AkuRokuDem
There were no words to describe the void. Even the rain pouring down was not enough. The heavy body in his arms could not describe the weight on his soul, his empty, nonexistant heart. Pink trails ran down where the rain mixed with his blood, he should have cleaned Axel up first. He panicked, he didn't know what do to. One minute they were making love and the next his powerful beloved was dying. He'd been fighting this for years, since he was a teenage somebody. The disease had tore him apart from the inside out until he could not kiss, could not eat.
He fought so hard for them. Nights Axel couldn't breathe were spent tangled in sheets between he and Demyx, trying to please his lovers no matter how painful it was to him. Blood coated his face and hands, trying to stop it from infecting them as well. Demyx would cry for hours, drop to his knees and beg Vexen to fix something completely out of his control. The scientist would simply kneel down and hold the Nocturne and let him eventually sob himself to sleep.
The entirety of Organization XIII was waiting there. Axel was still alive somehow, he had not yet started to fade. There was no warmth left in his body, no energy left to even open his eyes. Darkness began swirling around the firestorm and Roxas set him down upon the altar surrounded in bleeding hearts, his favorite flower. Sora stepped out from the mourning crowd to hold his little nobody who simply stood there silent, watching his lover slowly fade away. Somewhere in the crowd Demyx whimpered and the basement elders held him close, letting the boy lament. Strong hands kept him from running to Axel's side. It would only be a matter of time before they mourned two more losses. Axel was their everything.
"You can let go now Axie.." Roxas whispered into Sora's chest. "You don't have to fight anymore."
All eyes watched as Axel faded away before them, two objects clattering to the altar. Roxas pulled away and ran up, picking up a keychain and ring. He slipped the ring onto Demyx's finger and switched the keychains on one of his blades, melding it into a weapon strongly resembling that of his lost love. A long, sorrowful howl rose from Saix's throat, calling to the moonglow above to guide their lost soul safely back to the planet from whence he'd come.
Demyx and Roxas held each other tight and made their way back into the castle. Xemnas sighed and shook his hed, dispersing the crowd inside.
It was only a matter of time..
