Bad Author Notes: O'Neill and Simmons are a pair of butt heads and that's why it took this long to get this chapter out. They pretty much glared at each other and won't let me write but in the end Simmons win. Jack blinked. And I was finally able to finish this chapter.

Now we just have to see when RL will let me write the next chapter.

Thank you Steve Bartel for reading thru this mess and trying to fix it.

It was mid-morning when the SG-3 and 5 arrived at the DeMarco residence.

"Gentlemen and ladies," O'Neill said with a nod of his head before taking a drink of coffee.

"Colonel" Major Castleman, leader of SG-3 replies while Major Harper, leader of SG-5 just nods his head.

"Nana would be having a cow right now," Trent mumbled as he took in the sights of the Marines invading his home.

"Don't worry, I won't tell Nana that you were conspiring with them," DeMarco told his cousin.

Trent shot his cousin a glare, "I'm conspiring? You work with them every day. What do you think Nana would say to that?"

A smirk appeared on Airman DeMarco's face. "She bakes me cookies for being a good soldier and dealing with those nasty, evil Marines."

The Marines in the two SG teams looked at DeMarco with a look that leaned towards being unpleasant.

"Nana, our grandmother, has a thing against Marines," DeMarco stated with a shrug.

"It's called a shotgun," Trent explained, "and she'll use it on anyone who thinks about becoming one. I would hate to see what she thinks if she saw me with any of you especially when dad is trying to encourage me to join the military."

Harper snorted. "How good of a shot is she?"

"Crack," the DeMarco cousins answered.

"She's also learning to skydive," O'Neill chimed in.

"Sounds like she would make a good Marine," Major Harper suggests. "Strong, stubborn and not willing to let anything like age gets in her way."

The DeMarco cousin cringed. "You're probably right Major, but since I like my life, I won't tell her you said that," DeMarco replied.

Shaking his head, Castleman asked. "What's the situation, Colonel?"

O'Neill quickly briefed the teams of what the suspected was going on. "I want to have an eye on Witwicky at all times," O'Neil stated.

"What about the girl? Are we watching her too?"

"Yes," Trent answered before O'Neill had a chance to reply.

O'Neill nods his head. "Yeah, we're going to keep an eye on her too," he reassured Trent. "With our luck she'll probably be the key to this mess…or the car will be. What kind of foot race do you win a car in?"

The sun was setting as a sedan pulled into the DeMarco's drive way.

"Why am I not surprised that the little Hell Cat had a part in this," the driver said as he exit the car.

"I'm sure that's not true, Simmons," the passenger said as he climb out.

"Trent DeMarco is the ex-boyfriend of that little Hell Cat. Trust me when I say she had a part to play in all of this. Just you wait, Banachek. Just you wait," Simmons said as he marched towards the front door like a man about to go to war.

"I hate my life," Banachek mumbled with a shake of his head as he followed Simmons.

Simmons rang the doorbell a couple time then proceeded to bang on the door.

"Can I help you," Trent asked as he opened the door just enough to see who was at it.

Simmons held up his wallet, which displayed his badge. "Agent Simmons with Sector Seven. This is Agent Banachek," he stated with a nod toward the man in question. "We're here to speak to Colonel Jonathan J O'Neill."

"Ummm…" Trent stammered as he glanced back into the house.

"I know that Colonel O'Neill is in your home along with a Major Samantha Carter, Dr. Daniel Jackson and a man who goes by the name of Murray. And if you don't let me in to speak to O'Neill, I can promise that you won't like the consequences," Simmons said in a tone that said he was in control of the situation and was not to be messed with.

"Let them in," a voice came from deeper inside the home

Trent stepped back as he opened the door so Simmons and Banachek could come in.

"Smart move," Simmons said as he walked back Trent. He looked around the room at the people gather there before walking over to the most prominent chair in the room and sat down. "So, Colonel O'Neill," Simmons focused on the oldest looking male in the room, "what exactly are you and your team doing in Tranquility, Nevada?"

Colonel O'Neill sat down in a chair across from Agent Simmons. "I think the more important question is who exactly are you and your friend and why are you here? You see I've never heard of Section Seven before and I know a lot of government agencies. So who exactly are you, Agent Simmons?"

"Just because you haven't heard of Section Seven before Colonel, doesn't mean we don't exist. I doubt too many people have heard about Star Gate Command before or the fact that it is located beneath Cheyenne Mountain. Of course, I doubt too many people would believe that you have alien device hidden on the lowest level of your base; a device that allow your teams to travel to other worlds and meet aliens such as your friend Murray," Simmons commented as he pointed to Teal'c.

"You're an alien?" Trent gasped in shock and awe as he stared at the man in question

Teal'c nodded his head.

"He's not much of an alien, kid. Just a genetically altered offshoot of our own species," Simmons admitted.

"You do realize that is classified information you just told a civilian," O'Neill said calmly.

Simmons shrugged his shoulders. "You're the one who included him into this mess. Beside it's not like anyone would believe him if he told them and if he did tried I'm sure that his drugs test would come up as positive for some illegal substance," Simmons replied.

"I didn't figure a government agent would stoop to blackmail," Trent growled.

"To protect the United State of America and the whole human race," Simmons snorted, "blackmail is a minor thing."

"Protect the human race from what?" Daniel asked as he sat down in a chair close to O'Neill's.

"From any danger that threatens us," Simmons replied.

"Like aliens?" Daniel inquired. "Like the aliens here in Tranquility."

Simmons ignored Daniel's question as turned his attention the O'Neill. "So why are you in Tranquility?"

"More important, why are you here, iAgent/i Simmons," O'Neill replied. "And how did you learn about the SGC."

"My security rating is higher than yours," Simmons commented with a very predatory like smile.

"We're going to be here all day," Banachek sighed as he rubbed his head as if to ward off a headache.

"Why do you say that, Agent Banachek?" Teal'c asked.

"Because those two are exactly the same," Banachek proclaimed. "They won't give an inch unless the other one does. And neither one of them will go first just in case the other one take advantage of it."

"I won't deny it," Simmons replied with a shrug of his shoulders. "And I have the patience to wait it out."

Banachek shook his head with a sigh. "We were sent here to investigate why you were here and to prevent any misunderstanding."

"With the aliens," Daniel said.

Banachek nodded his head.

"You mean the government knew about the whole time," Trent demanded.

"Kid, if you knew even half of what the government knew, you would be sitting in the corner sucking your thumb," Simmons declared.

"But Mikaela…the government is letting Witwicky hurt her," Trent stammered.

"So tell me kid, how long did you date Banes before she wised up and dumped you," Simmons asked as he turned around and looked at the teen.

"What does that have to do with anything," O'Neill growled only to have Simmons ignore him

Trent glanced over at O'Neill before answering, "Almost a year and a half."

"A year and a half," Simmons repeated with a trace of surprise in his voice. "And tell me Mr. DeMarco, in that year and half did you learn anything about Ms. Banes at all?"

"Yeah. Sure!" Trent answered. "I learned a lot about Mikaela while we dated. Not everything but I know a lot about her."

"Right," Simmons replied with a nod of his head. "And in that time did you realize exactly what a Hell Cat that young woman is? I can honestly say that anyone that tried to hurt that Hell Cat will find themselves on the floor, looking up at the ceiling, wondering just what happened. Of course that would be right before that girl crush whatever manhood that person had into a blood smear."

"Umm…well…" Trent stammered.

"Of course this is also the same girl who knows how to hotwire a tow truck and drive it backwards into a battle with a wounded solider on the back of it so he help kill the baddie and save some American soldiers," Simmons state.

"What!" Trent sputtered.

"You're talking about the incident near the Hoover Dam," Daniel supplied. "The one reported to have caused hallucination dues to a gas leak of some sort."

"Give people a possible explanation about something and the cover-up writes itself," Simmons explained.

"So there was a battle then," O'Neill inquired, "with the aliens; these giant robots."

"Are these giant robots some type of droids that the aliens sent to explore Earth or are the aliens inside of them?" Carter asked.

"The robots are the aliens," Banachek replied.

"An AI?" Carter said in surprise.

"No," Banachek with a shake of his head. "And they're nothing like Replicators."

"How so?" Carter questioned. "They are machines, aren't they?"

Banachek shrugged his shoulders. "They're not different than us."

Simmons humfed sound

"Ain't we just carbon based machines?" Banachek continued.

"So you're saying they're basically steel or whatever based humans," O'Neill asked.

"With built in weapons, the ability to hack any computer system on Earth and can transform to looks almost any machine on Earth," Simmons added in. "Yeah, they're just like us."

"You don't care for them, do you?" Daniel noted.

Simmons paused for a moment before saying, "I know these aliens. My family has spent our lives protecting the world from these aliens. So, no, I don't like them." Simmons pauses for a moment before leaning back into the chair. "But I do respect them."

"So they're bad guys, right?" Trent asked. "I mean you're family had been protecting the world from them and they cause whatever to happen at Hoover Dam to happen…"

"It's not that simple," Banachek replied. "The Cybertronians, the aliens are in a middle of a civil war which unfortunately came to Earth."

A number of them those gather in the room groaned at the words 'Civil War'

"And what do they want with Earth?" O'Neill demanded.

"We are done answering your questions. It's your turn to answer ours." Simmons interrupted before Banachek could say anything more. "What exactly is your interest in Witwicky?"

O'Neill glared at Simmons for a moment before growling, "His eyes glowed."

Simmons and Banachek shared a look between them at this news.

"When was this?" Banachek asked.

The members of SGC looked over at Trent. The younger DeMarco looked at everyone for a moment before saying, "A couple days before I left for Nana's house."

"So two almost three weeks ago," the elder DeMarco stated as he figure out the timeline out.

"That doesn't make any sense," Banachek said softly. "Witwicky was examined. There was nothing wrong about him."

Simmons snorted. "The kid held that thing when he used on NBE One and he was completely unharmed. No injuries, no burns not even damn sun burned."

"So what are you suggesting?" Banachek demanded.

"Energy can neither be created nor destroyed," Simmons answered simply.

Banachek stared at Simmons for several minutes before saying, "No. No. What you are saying is wrong. Energy doesn't work that way."

"Humans absorb radiation all the time," Simmons countered.

"Yes but we don't start making it either!" Banachek replied.

"We don't know what the hell that thing was or could do and neither did they! For all we know the kid died saving the world and that thing replaced him," Simmons pointed out.

"What exactly are you talking about?" O'Neill said in a voice that demanded answers.

"The Cube," Simmons answered.

"The Cube?" O'Neill echoed back to the two men.

Banachek ran his hand through his hair. "It's an alien artifact that landed on Earth over 12,000 years ago."

"So I take it that Witwicky used this cube on whatever NBE One is in order to save the world," O'Neill stated. "So that leaves the question of what NBE One is."

"Your worst nightmare," Simmons replied simply.

"You won't know how bad my worst nightmare is," O'Neill growled.

"Total annihilation of all life on Earth; soon followed by the rest of the universe," Simmons proclaimed.

"Yeah, that's one of my worst," O'Neill admitted grudgingly. "What exactly is going on? And why weren't we informed about an alien presence on Earth."

"It is my understanding that someone decided to delay the briefing the SGC command personal until the next scheduled meeting," Banachek answered.

"Damn bean-counters," Simmons commented.

"Are you saying no one was briefed on this because some accountant wants to save the cost of a flight?" DeMarco asked.

Simmons nodded his head. "Yeah; pretty much."

"Typical," O'Neill grumbled as he ran his hand through his greying hair. "So can you tell us what is going on?"

Simmons and Banachek shared a look before Banachek said, "In 1897, Captain Archibald Witwicky made the greatest discovery in the history of mankind, a being we call NBE One was frozen in the Artic Ice."

"You mean like the creature from the movie The Thing? It's ship crashed and it tried to escape and end up freezing," Trent asked.

"Kid, you do realize this is a matter of national security?" Simmons commented.

"Yeah but Mikaela my girl…or was my girl but she's still a friend. So I'm involved," Trent answered. "I…I know what would happen if I tell anyone anything."

Simmons rose from his chair and walked over to Trent until he was in the young man's face. "I doubt that kid. Trust me when I say that anything you could dream up would be mild compared to the truth," Simmons said with a smirk.

"Hey, there is no reason to scare the kid," Daniel spoke up in Trent's defense.

"Actual Dr. Jackson there is a very good reason why as you say 'to scare the kid.' You see NBE One wasn't alone. Now while we were about to destroy NBE One and some of his followers a couple of them were able to escape," Simmons stated as he took his seat once again.

A grim expression appeared on O'Neill's face "How many?"

"Possible two who are known to be on Earth," Banachek replied.

"Possible. Possible two," Carter said. "Which mean you really don't have an idea?"

"Major Carter, even they don't know how many of their own people still exists," Simmons replied.

"Can we get back to the history lesson; I would like to know what we're dealing with?" O'Neill stated.

Simmons shrugged his shoulder as he turned his back on Trent and walked back to his chair.

"In 1902 the Cube was discovered in Nevada," Banachek explained. "A secure faculty was built around it and later NBE One was moved there."

Banachek paused for a moment. "In 1969, we learn that NBE One wasn't the only one of his kind in existence, about their civil war and how both sides were after the Cube."

"How did you learn of such matter?" Murray asked. "From your description of NBE One, I do not believe he would indulge such information."

Banachek glance down at Simmons.

A smirk appeared on Simmons' face. "While the crew of Apollo 11 was the first to visit the Moon; the crew of Ghost 1 was the first to leave visit another solar system, land on a complete alien planet and meet aliens. I guess Dr. Jackson and you loss that title, Colonel," he stated. "Of course you did get to return to Earth so I guess you can keep that title at least."

"1969…that's decades…" Carter babbled to herself. 'How?"

"Reverse engineering of NBE One," Simmons replied. "That's where we get most of our technology from. Cell phones, TVs, radio…anything with a circuit."

"The crew of Ghost 1? What happened to them?" O'Neill asked.

"They sacrifice themselves to prevent the Deceptions, NBE One's people, from following their path back to Earth. They bought us almost four decades to prepare for their arrival," Simmons explained.

"It wasn't long enough, was it," O'Neill stated.

"It never is," Simmons answered.

The room was silence for a moment before Trent blurted out, "So now what?"

All eyes turned to him cause him to squirm in place.

"I mean we know that there are aliens…alien robots on Earth and that Witwicky might not be who he says he is…or maybe thinks he is," Trent said before saying a quieter tone. "And Mikaela is with him by her own choice."

Simmons turned to look at O'Neill. "I'm assuming you want to meet them."

"Was there any doubt?" O'Neill replied.

"We'll be in contact," Banachek declared as Simmons rose from his chair.

"Will you be at the meeting?" Dr. Jackson asked.

Simmons let out a snort. "No."

"Why not?" Jackson inquired.

"Because they don't exactly like me," Simmons admitted.

"And reason why?" O'Neill asked.

Simmons shrugged his shoulders. "They hate that I did my job," he answered simply.

"And what job was that, "Jackson asked.

"To capture them or kill them." Simmons stated before walking out of the room.
