The first time he kissed her, she didn't know what to make of it. It was sudden, abrupt, and far too ardent for her liking.

"What do you think you're doing?" she almost spat, appalled by his actions.

"Kissing you. I read it in a book. It's something that people who share a close bond do, right?" He wore a smile on his face, and Sakura wasn't sure if it was real or not.

She deliberated, considering her words carefully, but then deciding it was always better to be blunt with Sai. "No. It's something that lovers do."

"Lovers are those who share a close bond together, right?" His look was puzzled, the way it always was when she tried explaining an emotion to him.

"Yes, but it's a different bond than the one we share." Oh, Kami-sama, please—please—let this get through to him!

"Really?" He slid his arm around her waist, and kissed her again. "Are you sure about that?"

No. Absolutely not. Haruno Sakura wasn't sure about anything, anymore.

A/N: Okay, so recently, I decided to collect some prompt words. Seeing as how nothing can captivate my interest for more than a mere second (in case you haven't noticed, all of my works are one-shots and drabbles), I'm not going with a specific pairing or fandom. (A lot of them are leaning towards Naruto, though.) Another thing....I'm doing a lot of writing around one in the morning. Which can't be that great...
