Noah's POV
Being the third one to enter the loser house was quite insulting. I really let my classmates down at school—now they'll probably think I'll make a bad president...
Oh well. The people who voted for me probably don't watch reality TV shows anyway.
At any rate, the house was a total bore. I mean, come on. How much fun can Eva be? She's constantly in anger management classes—they're free here.
I tried taking one with her, but it was worse than doing absolutely nothing—and that's pretty bad.
Ezekiel wasn't much more fun; all he did was make phone call after phone call to his father, talking about everything. He gave his father a new report every five minutes or so, telling the man about whatever he discovered about the real world in those last five minutes they hadn't been in contact.
My ears were tired of hearing an absolute excess of 'eh', and so I had to make myself leave the room.
And then came Justin as the fourth person voted off. I figured that maybe, just maybe, he'd be someone worth talking to.
I was probably wrong, but I was sure to find out.
I found him sitting in the obnoxiously large living room, watching the TV with a smile on his face. He was watching a flood somewhere in the States, so it was obvious that he wasn't smiling because he was happy—he was just smiling because his teeth looked good.
And sure, they did; I'd give him that much. But still, smiling while watching a flood? Made me wonder if he was watching it at all.
Which brought up the question if he was truly awake or not. He did sleep standing up with fake eyeballs painted on his face once. He could have gotten better at applying makeup. Probably not though—his eyeball-drawing skills were terribly pathetic even by my standards.
I flopped into a reclining chair off to Justin's right, regarding him with a nod, "Justin," I greeted.
He smiled at me, and for a moment I could swear that my heart actually stopped. I opened my mouth to say something else, but no words came out. I couldn't even stop looking until Justin looked back at the TV, smile still on his face.
That's when my hate for him started blossoming. Anyone who could stop my heart and leave me speechless with only a look was no friend of mine. Stopping hearts was a seriously bad medical issue, and the last thing I needed was a medical issue.
But I decided to give him one more chance. I mean, I had nothing better to do than sit there with him. I might as well try at a conversation.
"So... I think Heather should have been voted off," I stated, "But then again, I'm glad she's not here."
Justin nodded, not looking away from the TV with that smile on his face. If I wasn't mistaken, I was pretty sure I saw his teeth sparkle.
And that's about as much as I could possibly take. He wasn't going to talk and simply being around him was making me mad. There was just something about the mute model that really got to me. He was everything I wasn't. He was quiet, beautiful, bad at putting makeup on...
Okay, scratch that last one. I'm not good at putting makeup on either.
Not that I've tried! Cuz, I haven't!
Well, maybe once but that was only beca-
Yeah, I'm not even going to go there.
I stood up and started leaving the room, though I was just about out when Justin let out a sigh, muttering, "Good riddance."
I frowned and made my way back in, "Oh, so as soon as I leave, then you're all talkative?" I asked.
Justin shrugged, smiling at me as an answer. The smile silenced me and had me walking toward the door again in seconds. Man, I really hated that guy. He was my anti-me.
