Disclaimer: Magic Kaito no belongy to me.
A/N: Not nearly as cracky as the last. Actually, not anything cracky at all. Kind of. It's really hard to write Kuroba Kaito without crack. He just oozes so much of it on a regular basis.
Kuroba Kaito's Singing Wriggling Christmas Present
"KAITOOOO!!!"
Kuroba Kaito jumped to attention, prepared to flee at the slightest hint of a mop. But what he was faced with was not actually a grey rope squid mounted on a stick, but something red, green, and shiny. "Merry Christmas!" Aoko stated, a grin on her face as she held the present out to him. "You can open it now if you like!"
Kaito was surprised by that last bit, but did not hesitate to do so. If he had, he might have realized how strange it was that Aoko was willingly letting him open his Christmas present early. If he had, he might have noticed the evil glint in Aoko's eyes, as well as Hakuba inching ever closer, having been warned prior that he would not want to miss this.
In the end, it was Kaito's impatience and Hakuba's mild sadistic streak that was their respective downfalls.
Hungrily, Kaito tore the shiny paper away from the box. The bubble wrap underneath was also quick to disappear, revealing…
"Don't worry… be happy."
"GYAAAAHHH!"
The resounding tortured cry could be heard for miles as the present, a Singing Fish, took an impromptu flight through the heavens. Kaito scuttled as fast as he could to the other side of the classroom as the Singing Fish, still mechanically wiggling and singing to its heart's content, landed, knocking over a pencil balanced on a Styrofoam cup. This is turn set off a chain reaction that had been prepared earlier, but intended for an entirely different person. The end result was that Hakuba, standing right next to Aoko, had a banner unfurled in front of him.
Said banner read: Last night I had a dream where I walked in on you and Kaitou Kid.
It is often said that silence is golden. However, that is only if it is not the calm before the storm.
"Kuroba…" Hakuba finally managed to stutter out, "You have a sick, sick mind."
Kaito found himself unable to answer, as he had received a face full of grey rope squid mounted on a stick.
