Light sat down on the couch with the baby. L walked over to him and sat down next to him.

"Cookie?" L offered. Light took a small chocolate cookies and an animal cracker. The baby, Near who was now a year old, took the animal cracker and bit into it, effectively beheading the donkey.

Light sighed. "How do you think Matt and Mello are doing?"

"At your dad's house? Fine I guess, but probably still causing chaos." L ate a chocolate cookie himself while he watched Near slowly chew what was in his mouth. "I don't understand why you didn't want Near to stay with your parents as well. We could've had some alone time."

Light rolled his eyes. "Matt and Mello are three and four, they're older than Near. I want him to spend as much time as he can here so he can get used to his surroundings."

"Mother complex." L stated.

"Shut up, L." Near moved his hand around, drawing Light's attention. He looked down at the small albino in his lap. "You want your cook—hey! That's my cookie!" Light and L didn't even notice when Near, a baby, had switched the cookie he had with the cookie Light had and began munching on it, giving tiny bites.

L laughed. "You got beat by a baby."

Light glared at L. "Shut up." He looked down at Near who looked at him with wide, innocent eyes. Light smiled. He let Near keep the chocolate cookie and the animal cracker. "I can tell you're going to be smart. Keep this up and you'll be smarter than L."

L frowned. "Not funny, Light."

Light laughed and Near giggled, as if understanding them. Then Near took L's cookie. Light laughed even more.

Monkey: This actually happened, only my sister was in Light's position and her kid was in Near's. He really is a year old and he seems like he's going to be smart and I thought it'd be cute to write it out with Light, L and Near but it turned out worse than I thought. -.-' Hope you guys liked it, if not, then flame if you want to XD
