Christmas Specials

oOoOoOo

Spending their first Christmas together was supposed to be special.

Uchiha Sasuke gazed at her sleeping form with disbelief. After a few minutes of watching the latest Konoha Christmas Special, she closed her eyes and went to sleep. He couldn't believe it.

It was their first major occassion as a married couple. They had a small but intimate dinner, an impromptu waltz with candlelight on the hall and a promising romp in their bedroom. But the last part didn't work out.

He stroked her soft pink hair tenderly. Uchiha Sakura slept on. It was not her fault that she hated staying up late. He was the only one who didn't want to miss the tv special production of The Nutcracker starring Uzumaki Naruto and Hyuuga Hinata.

Tsunade-sama wanted his wife to act. But Sakura had turned down the part because she didn't want to leave him alone on Christmas day.

He reached for the thick blanket and tucked it around her. She snuggled closer to his warmth. The Uchiha had to smile. After a quick glance at the wall clock, he groped for the remote control.

His eyes widened.

The remote control was missing.

Swearing lightly, he got up from his comfortable spot and started a thorough search for the lost item. He didn't leave anything untouched. After a frustrating fifteen-minute sortie, Sasuke gave up.

Grumbling, he went back to bed. Sakura's slumber was deep and calm. He reached for her and let her unconscious embrace soothe his frustration. Listening to her soft and even breathing eventually calmed him down and lulled him to sleep.

Sakura opened an eye tentatively. When she was sure that her husband was asleep, she hugged the remote control to her breast. She didn't want to share her husband with the television. Maybe she should take it out of the bedroom tomorrow...

She stifled a giggle.

Sasuke's expression will be the best Christmas gift of all.
