"Do you know how many times a day I get hit on?" Danny asked as he and Lindsay walked side by side from the crime lab to the subway.

Lindsay's already queasy stomach tightened with nervousness, here we go. "Like I said before, I'm not expecting anything from you," she reminded him, trying to stay strong.

"And see, there's something you said earlier that I really didn't like," he continued, not paying any bit of attention to what she just said.

"Danny, please," she half whined, half begged. She really couldn't take any long drawn out break up, she just wanted to get it done and over with.

"How long, in total, have we been goin' together?" he asked her, "What almost a year and a half right?"

He looked over at her, he saw how nervous she was, but he wasn't done yet.

"In any of that time, except for that couple month spread that we really haven't talked about and we really don't need to talk about, have I given you any indication that you were just a passin' fad to me?" he had stopped and had turned her around, looking her in the eye.

He watched as she bit her lip, trying to make it stop quivering. She shook her head 'no'.

"I may not be the best boyfriend, and remember everything I should," he reached in his back pocket and pulled out what had become his new bible, the ultrasound picture of their child she had given him, "But I swear I will be a better father to this blob we created," he ended, the corner of his mouth going up in a half smirk.

He watched as a slow smile spread across her face, he pulled her close wrapping his arms around her waist, "I'm not goin' anywhere, Montana. Although, you are definitely finding a new doctor's office."

She lightly slapped his shoulder, kissing the underside of his chin, "I love you, Dan."

"I love you too," he said.

She gasped, and pulled away slightly, looking at him in surprise.

"Yeah, yeah. I said it," he sighed dramatically, and pulled her close again.

She smiled a bright smile and hugged his neck tight. She knew what he had down in the past, and they had never talked about it. But he was hers, and their baby's, and she knew how much he regretted that decision.
