Jasper's Proposal to Alice

Jasper POV

Alice danced around the room, replacing Esme's old flower vases with new ones. The new vases were clear, crystalline, and tall. When the sun shined on them they glittered like a thousand diamonds were imbedded in them.

I sat next to Emmett on the white couch to watch the rest of the football game. Bears vs. Lions.

"Yeah!" Emmett shouted when the Bears scored, making them win the game.

"Gotta go tell Edward to pay up, he lost the bet." Emmett said as he ran upstairs to go find his brother, but before he did that, he turned around and gave me a thumbs up.

I can do this, I thought. I stood up and reached into my pocket.

Just then, Carlisle walked through the door.

"Hey Carlisle!" Alice greeted enthusiastically.

"Hi guys." He replied back. He looked at me and I nodded. Carlisle mouthed "good luck" to me and ran upstairs to go find Esme.

I took an unnecessarily deep breath and reached farther into my pocket to get the small black box that that I placed there this morning.

"Alice?" I asked, trying to sound as calm as I could manage. I pulled the box out of my pocket.

She turned around with a smile.

"Yeah?"

"Alice…will you-"She cut me off then, putting one finger against my lips. Her wide, innocent eyes flickered up to gaze into mine and she half-smiled. She moved her hand down from my face and slid it across my jaw line, down the back of my neck and then slid it halfway down my back. Her hand pressed harder into my back as I gently wrapped one of mine around her arm, between her elbow and shoulder.

She leaned in and pressed her lips to mine, soft and sweet.

Alice took her hand off of me and I took mine off of her. She leaned back and grinned.

"Of course!" Many feelings emanated off of her, but only one over rode them all. Happiness, pure and the most I've ever felt at once.

Only one thought occupied my mind as I took her hand and both of us sat on the couch, next to one another.

I'm going to be with her. Forever.

I opened the ring box and she squealed.

[Okay, so you might be wondering…

Q. Can't Alice see the future? Did she know he was going to propose?

A. Yes, she did.

Q. Did the other Cullens know that Jasper was going to propose?

A. Yea, Emmett even gave him a thumbs up and Carlisle mouthed, "good luck."

Q. What was with the vase thing at the beginning?

A. I put that in there purposely because I described the vases as how the ring was, minus the tall part.

Q. Was this before Edward met Bella?

A. Yepp. As far as Edward knew, Bella didn't exist. Whether Alice knew is up for you to decide.

Q. Where were the rest of the Cullens?

A. Esme was upstairs in Carlisle's office. Edward was in his room listening to a CD. Alice and Rosalie were out shopping. Carlisle walked in the door then went upstairs to find Esme. Emmett was downstairs then went upstairs to talk to Edward.

Q. What was with the football game? Why did you choose those teams?

A. Okay, so the football game was stuck in there because I needed a way to get Emmett out of the room. But I also had a little fun choosing the teams because Emmett is a bear. Edward is a lion. If you remember from the books…]
