Captain Jack Saves the Day
"Ianto! For fuck's sake sit down before I drug you!" Owen was becoming increasingly impatient.
"Can't," Ianto replied, sploshing through the stream of seawater that ran through the Hub without even noticing that it was ruining the shine on his shoes. "Where the hell is he?"
"Ianto, love," Gwen waded in and touched his cheek lightly. "It's OK; he'll be back in time. Relax."
Ianto sighed and looked despairingly at his watch for the hundredth time.
Tosh handed him a cup. "Here, drink this. It'll help calm you."
Ianto rejected the drink. "Thanks Tosh, but I really don't want warm milk."
Owen and Gwen exchanged knowing glances, and Owen placed his hands on Ianto's shoulders, forcing him to the sofa. "Just sit down; he'll be here. Don't worry," he said, a little more kindly. He could see the distress the young man was experiencing.
"But what time do they shut on a Saturday?" wailed Ianto.
"Shush," soothed Gwen. "It'll be OK."
Just as Ianto was struggling to rise, Jack came bursting through the cog door, triumphantly waving a piece of paper aloft. "I've got it!" he yelled. "Now, go for it, quick!"
Ianto lunged for the television. "I can't believe I forgot to renew it. Thank God you got to the post office before they closed. I'll file the new television license tomorrow but, here sit down and watch. We don't want to miss the beginning of 'Strictly'."
The end
AN: For anyone who doesn't know, "Strictly Come Dancing" is the Saturday TV show that has gripped the UK. Celebrities pair up with professionals and learn to dance. It's a big TV sensation, bigger even than Torchwood! I think the US has something similar called "Dancing with the Stars".
