"Take these down to Abby," DiNozzo grinned, handing her some samples they had collected on Air Force One. Kate looked at him cautiously, wondering what was behind his grin, but turned and began to walk to the elevators anyway.

"Make it snappy," DiNozza ordered and laughed as he laid a hard smack on her ass. Kate abruptly turned on her heel and drove her knee ruthlessly into his groin. DiNozzo quickly dropped to the ground with both hands clutching his manhood for dear life. "Sorry," he grunted, his voice strained as he tried to breathe and his face began to turn red.

Kate nodded in satisfaction and turned back to the elevators. The closer to Abby's lab she got, the more nervous she grew. The words "special" and "unique" and many other adjectives with the same general meaning had been thrown around with each mention of her name and she was beginning to imagine a woman with three heads.

She took a deep breath as the doors of the elevator opened to the basement floor and unconsciously tightened her grip on the bag of samples in her hand. She slowly peered around the corner to get a glimpse of the horrendous monster and found no one in sight. Beginning to feel a little bolder she took a step into the lab and said in an anxious voice, "Ms. Sciuto."

Suddenly a head popped up from behind a metal lab table, catching Kate off guard and causing her to leap back a step. The girl's brow was furrowed and her nose wrinkled as she repeated, "Ms. Sciuto?"

"Yes," Kate replied, trying to recollect herself, "I'm looking for her, is she here?"

The girl jumped up and stood walking towards Kate. "There's no Ms. Sciuto here, but I'm Abby Sciuto," she smiled extending her hand.

Kate shook it hesitantly and stared at her in disbelief. The black pigtails that stood ridiculously on her head, but seemed to suit her all the same, and the metal chains around her neck and leather bands around her wrists made Kate feel like they were all playing some sort of joke on her. "You're Abby Sciuto," she asked, still not able to wrap her brain around it and staring blankly at the web tattoo on her neck.

"Yup," Abby grinned and let go of her hand, "You must be Kate."

Kate cleared her throat and nodded, but still replied with a dazed tone, "Yes, I'm Kate."

"It's okay," Abby said, giving her a light punch on the shoulder.

"What is," Kate asked, shaking her head.

"You're apprehensive of me," Abby smirked.

"I'm not apprehensive of you," Kate replied defensively, pulling herself from her trance.

"Intimidated then," Abby suggested.

Kate turned her eyes away from her and nodded defeated, "Maybe a little bit intimidated."

"Don't worry, I get that a lot," Abby said, turning back to her computer desk and pushing a chair towards Kate, "Need to sit down?"

"No, I'm fine," Kate replied stiffly, staring at the chair as if it was set to blow up at any moment.

"Just sit down," Abby commanded taking her wrist and pulling her towards the chair.

Kate slumped down in the chair, watching as the girl bounced with each movement she made. She took an obscenely large drink labeled "caf-pow" off the table and took a sip before extending it towards Kate, "Want some?"

Kate shook her head and held up a hand, "No thanks."

Abby shoved the drink into her hand with a smile that reached both ears and said, "Try it."

Kate took a cautious small sip and tasted the heavily caffeinated liquid inside before realizing that it actually tasted pretty good. She took another larger gulp before handing the drink back to Abby.

"See it's good," Abby giggled and Kate finally relaxed and returned the smile. "Don't worry, we can share it. I don't have any cooties."
