This is the second entry. This time it's my favourite pairing. Right after the epic battle where Guren had total forgotten abput Masahiro. It's a little extract from the novels where Masahiro lost his 'eyes' He can still 'hear' and 'sense' but he can't 'see' anymore. So, he was quite vulnerable when the demons attacked.
Disclaimer: Even if I grovel Guren still won't let me have Masahiro.
"GUREN
"GUREN!!"
Masahiro sat up with a start. Panting heavily, his eyes searched wildly for a sight of a white or a tall muscular man. Locking onto a sleeping white creature at a corner, he gave a sigh of relief as his racing heart beat calmed down.
Luckily my scream didn't woke him up. If not, he'd be mad at me for hollering his name.
Unbidden, the memory of what happened earlier that day came crashing into his mind.
..Memory..
Danger. Where are they. I can't 'see'. I'm 'blind'. help Help HELP!
"GUREN!" the name automatically left his mouth.
The shout petrified the fire shikigami for an instant. Cold piercing eyes glared warningly at him before turning back towards the unseen demons. It took the shikigamis quite sometime to kill most of the invading demons and chase the rest away. No chase was given since their primary orders were to protect Masahiro.
When things at last settle downed, the lean muscular man bored down on the pale boy and demanded furiously, "Where did you hear that name before? Who told you?"
Masahiro could only gulp and suppressed the insane urge to spill the beans. He was never good at lying thus explaining would only lead to him letting the cat out of the bag.
No, he doesn't need to know. It's better he remain ignorant of the painful past, even if it meant forgetting me.
The effort made his weak body shivering.
Golden eyes, colder than the coldest winter, so different from the warm shining orbs in his memories, narrowed dangerously. They held the glare for a few minutes before breaking away with a disgusted and impatient sigh.
"Pathetic." The once kind and understanding face was twisted with contempt. 'You, twerp, do not have the privilege to use that name."
..Present..
…I give you the right to me call by this name.
…CALL ME! GUREN!
The last sentence sent a blunt knife through his heart.
Tears spilled down his eyes silently, unable to hold them back then as no one was looking.
Or so he thought. From the window outside, Kouchin saw the crystal-like drops running the pale face. She shook her head sadly. Try as she might, she could never wipe away the despair in the boy's heart. Only one person was capable of doing that but ironically, said person was the one that planted it there and caused the flow of tears. The best part, he was unaware of the torture he was putting the boy through…
Sigh. "Toudan, you really are an idiot…"
At the corner, through a slim crack, sunset eyes witness the silent trembling and tears. A sight that tore opened his heart in an unimaginable way, just like how the sound of that boy calling his given name brought unexplainable joy into his heart.
Why? Why do I feel like consoling him? Why do I feel pain and sadness for a stranger's tears and suffering?
Why is he affecting me like this?
What's happening to me?
Who are you?
