Wisecracks and Hummus

"Come on Dean. It'll be over before you know it." Sam gripped his older brother's shoulder after steering him into the waiting room for dental surgery.

"I hate the dentist." Dean said. "My teeth feel perfectly fine." He ran a hand along his jaw line and Sam didn't miss as Dean involuntary winced.

"It's a simple procedure, Dean. Almost everyone has to get their wisdom teeth out. It's not a big deal."

"Oh Yeah? Then why don't you?"

"Good genes." Sam couldn't help but smile at Dean's glare.

"Johnson? Dean?" A grouchy looking older lady appeared at the entrance to the hallway, holding a clipboard. Sam gave Dean a reassuring smile while Dean breathed deeply out through his nose but nonetheless got to his feet.

"We need to run another set of X-Rays" She explained as Dean followed her down the hallway. When he returned, he looked pale and fell into the chair next to Sam, running a hand over his face.

"You alright there?"

"Yeah Sam. I'm fine."

Sam didn't understand. His brother could take down demons, hunt things unimaginable for most people and yet he was afraid of the DENTIST?

Dean's knee bounced and his eyes darted around the room. Sam leaning back flipping open the Men's Health magazine that was on the chair beside him.

It was a matter of minutes before Dean's name was called again and the grouchy looking woman was ready to take Dean to the back room.

Dean stopped at the doorway.

"Sam. Come with me." He hissed loudly. Sam rose to his feet but the lady stopped him.

"Sir. Your uh…" She looked seriously confused.

"Brother." Dean supplied.

"Your brother has to stay in the waiting room."

Dean glared at her.

"Sam." He called and Sam didn't miss the panic in his voice.

"I'm coming." Sam followed his brother and the lady shrugged her shoulders. Sam didn't miss her mumble something that sounded a lot like "Whatever. I don't need to deal with this." under her breath.

The surgical room looked normal enough and Dean took a seat in the chair, nervously playing with the armrest.

"Dude. It'll be fine."

"Shut up Sam."
