Hello, one and all. I was seriously recommend reading this one-shot while listening to Billie Holiday, specifically her song "Lover Man." It's an awesome song. If you haven't heard Billie Holiday, go buy her CD right now. Greatest jazz singer ever. Any, review and enjoy the fluff!
Billie Holiday's sweet jazz echoed throughout the house. Everyone hummed along to the familiar tunes while going about their business.
Upstairs, Alice sifted through piles of clothing. She had enough clothes to last her about a month without washing anything; so, of course, her laundry was done on a monthly basis.
Various clothing articles flew behind her shoulder, landing in one of the many growing mountains. She muttered in her head as she worked, saying where each item belonged. Light, dark, dry clean only, whites…all the while singing along with Billie's raspy voice.
By the time she was finished, a half hour had passed. Standing up to inspect her work, her favorite song played through the stereo. She sat on the nearest pile and sang along.
"I long to try something I've never had. Never had no kisses, oh, what I've been missing. Lover man, oh where can you be?" Unconsciously, her eyes closed and she swayed to the melody.
A pair of arms enclosed her in a soft embrace.
"I'm right here," a husky, alluring voice whispered, tickling her ear. A grin spread across her face at the familiar tone. Warmth and love enveloped her, a fuzzy feeling spreading from the pit of her stomach.
Jasper turned her around and placed her on his lap. They stared at each other for what felt like forever, not saying a word but still somehow communicating.
No love was stronger than that. It just wasn't possible.
Finally, ever so softly, Alice whispered, "I love you."
Jasper smiled sweetly and took his wife's face in his hands. Slowly, he brought her face to his and brushed his lips against hers with the lightest touch possible, like a breeze on a cool fall day. A shiver ripped through both their bodies, begging for more.
Pure lust filled the room, heating their already passionate kiss. They were soaring; still, after all those years, something as simple as a gentle kiss sent their stomach flipping into knots.
Suddenly, a load of clothing dumped on their heads, burying them in darkness. Popping their heads out, they saw Bella giggling above them.
"Alice, finish your laundry. I still have some to do." With that, she left the lovers alone.
Alice pouted, giving a slight groan as she aimlessly looked around at her closet laid out on the floor.
"I hate laundry day," she whimpered.
"Really?" he asked. "I love them" He pulled her on top of him and they fell into the clothes, completely in love.
