Chapter 7: Reunion And Surprise

Narcissa watched as her granddaughter in law paced for the twentieth time since the men left. She knew that soon, Lily would go on a man hunt. She couldn't blame her. She was waiting on four important men in her life. She was about to say something when four loud cracks were heard outside of the house. Lily was the first one out. Narcissa followed her but at a slower pace. She watched as Lily ran to the group and scooped up Lucien, showering him with kisses and hugs.

"Mom, come on I'm ok!"

"Lucien Damien Malfoy you are grounded!" Lily said sweetly. "But it's great to have you home." Luc looked at his father and the other men and they smiled sheepishly. Scorpius looked at his son then at his wife.

"Lily, come now, the boy's been through enough why add to it?"

"No Score I can't. Then I'll keep doing it and then before you know it, we'll have a kid who thinks he'll get away with murder."

"Oh you mean like your father?" Scorpius asked. Lily was about to retort but shut her mouth. Her husband was correct. She did feel bad for her father and what he went through but now, it was a different time and the rules changed. But she remained steadfast.

"Exactly," she said, walking back toward the Manor. Harry gaped like a fish out of water and Lucius smirked.

"See, even your own daughter thinks you got away with some serious shit."

"I did though." Harry said. "I just didn't think she'd enforce punishment."

"These are different times Mr. Potter." Lucius said, leading his great grandson back to the house, leaving Harry with Scorpius and Siri.

"Leave my wife to me." Scorpius said. "I'll talk to her."

"Work your magic lad," Harry said smugly. "It's worked for you so far." The younger Lord shrugged and went after his wife. He didn't have to go far, she was in the kitchen with his grandmother.

"Grandmother, can I have a word with Lily please?"

"Of course dear." Narcissa said with a small smirk. She exchanged a look with her granddaughter in law and left. Scorpius took a breath and then confronted her.

"Lily, Luc didn't mean to read the diary. It shouldn't have been left out in the first place."

"Well I..."

"Lily Luna Malfoy, you should have known better than to leave a magical item in the reach of a curious child such as our son." Scorpius admonished firmly. "You knew what would happen so what made you be so careless?"

"Honestly, we were in a rush Score. I didn't have time to put it away properly."

"That my dear, sounds like an excuse and that is not very Slytherin of you."

"You're right Score." Lily sighed. "I was wrong for leaving it out. Tell Luc he's off the hook." With a triumphant smirk, Scorpius turned heel and went to find their son, who was still with his grandfather and father in law.

"Well?" Lucius asked.

"Lucien, you're no longer grounded." He said. Luc dashed to his father and hugged him, then ran off to play with Siri. Harry looked at his son in law and blinked.

"How did you get my daughter to change her mind?" He asked. "Oh my God you didn't...did you?" Lucius and Draco were also curious for the answer but Scorpius just walked by them and smirked,

"A gentleman never kisses and tells." He said mysteriously as he made way to his room. He didn't have to wait long to hear the unamanous shout after him:

"BULLSHIT!"

September arrived and Scorpius led his son to the Hogwarts Express. He didn't look it, but he suddenly felt old. Time had flown for all of them. It seemed like yesterday rather than years ago that he met his wife when she arrived for her first year. He was about to say something when a house elf tugged on his cloak. He looked down and realized it wasn't an ordinary house elf. It was a Hogwarts house elf!

"Excuse me sir, be pardoning Nippy sir but this for you from Mistress McGonagall sir." He handed a thick envelope to Scorpius and left. Lucien looked at up at his father as he opened it and read, immediately looking shocked indeed.

"Dad...?"

"I...can't believe it...I...don't think I can do this ..."

"Do what lad?" Harry asked. Scorpius looked at his father in law and took a breath.

"Minerva's retiring and she's named me her successor as Headmaster."

"That's quite an honor..."

"I didn't earn it..."

"Scorpius, you may not think you have but I think she's made a great choice." Harry said. "You care about the students and their welfare. You're always listening to new ideas and you are a natural leader."

"But I..."

"And you're not going to get a swollen head just because you're in a position of power. And you don't play favorites."

"I agree with Harry on this one, son." Draco said. "You'll do well as Headmaster. You will ride with the children and thank McGonagall yourself. Now," With a wave of his wand, Scorpius' trunk was next to his son's. "Off you go." As the youngest Lord muttered about his father sucking balls, Harry snickered while Draco blushed scarlet.

"Well I never..."

"I told you you act like a crotchey old woman Draco."

"Shut up Scarhead."

As the two men bickered back and forth, Lily sighed. Some things just never changed.

The End

Well that took me quite a while sorry about that. Motherhood takes a lot of time but, I'll try to update the others soon.
