"Where you headed?"

"Out."

"Um...May I ask why?"

"Gotta see someone."

"Who?"

"Jun."

"Im sick."

"What?"

"I'm sick, you need to stay at home with me."

"You weren't sick a few minu-"

"How is a girl to get better without her man at her side?" Mai giggled as she spoke. Her personality had changed to a much lighter one since she and Zuko had gotten back together.

"Well you seemed to manage pretty well the last time I..." He coughed. There was an awkward silence.

"Your definition of well escapes me. If I remember correctly, I was constantly pissed and frustrated at every object of my life."

"That's normal," he paused, "...for you." He quickly pulled back as Mai tackled him onto the bed.

"You weren't always the pleasant one yourself!" She whispered between kisses. She laughed as Zuko rolled over on top of her.

"So we're a perfect match, then," he said, placing kisses down her neck.

He brushed the soft, black strands of hair out of her eyes.

"Nice try, Romeo. But I haven't forgotten what you said," she said with a smile. She pushed against his shoulder, rolling over on top of him.

"So...why are you meeting Jun, exactly?" She poked his chest and looked at him with playful sternness.

"Firelord stuff." He blew on her nose, making her giggle and pull back. Seizing the opportunity, he rolled over again, now back on top.

"Shouldn't your girlfriend-"

"Wife," Zuko cut in, giving a short laugh.

"Not yet, feisty," Mai started, "And furthermore, shouldn't your future wife no what 'stuff' you plan on doing?"

"I suppose..."

"Then stop stalling!"

"Who's stalling?!"

"You!" Zuko sighed.

"Well?" She asked again.

"We're going to go over some issues about rebellions, and bounties, maybe even some political stuff like wh-"

"Ugh, save it," she groaned. She really hated politics. Debates, arguments, blah, blah. When everything could be settled with a knife or two! Speaking of settling things...and knives... She glanced at the throwing knife glistening under her sleeve.

"I know, I know. No politics."

"You think you're catching me off guard don't you!" Mai smiled wryly at the firebender.

"Huh?"

"You think your winning..."

"What? Winning what?"

"This." She nudged his chin with the top of her head, distracting him from the knife she was discretely pulling from her sleeve.

"What are you talki- Ah!" Mai pricked his arm with the tip, loosening his hold on her. Taking advantage, she rolled over his back and pinned him down, face first.

"This." Zuko turned his head around to see his girlfriend grinning evilly at him.

"You sly dog..."

"I try," she said with a wink.

"You'll have to try," he grunted as he pushed himself back up, "a little harder next time!" He stumbled backwards, pinning Mai to the wall.

"Clever..."

He whipped around, pulling his woman just far enough from the wall to slide his hands around her waist.

"Like a fox," he whispered in her ear. She draped her arms around his neck, pulling him into her.

"My fox." She pushed her lips against his, warmth spreading throughout her body. Eventually they pulled away from each other, breathing heavily.

"I've been waiting all day for that," Zuko spoke in between breaths.

"And you know the best part?" Mai questioned.

"What's that?"

"You're late for that date with Jun." A smile spread across her face.
