Tifa glanced at Cloud. Several empty mugs littered the section of the bar he was occupying.

"Cloud?" He turned to look at her for a second before going back to his un-emptied mug. Shaking her head, she headed out of the bar holding a hand up to Barret's questioning look.

Outside the moon lit the surrounding landscape. Tifa wandered around Kalm aimlessly, mulling over her feelings. She soon found her way to a bench. The night was so peaceful sharply contrasting the inner turmoil of Tifa's heart. She was tired of the waiting, tired of trying when she wasn't even sure that it was love she felt.

"Tifa?" came Aeris soft voice. Tifa turned to look, at her a tear in her eye. "What's wrong? Is it him?" Tifa nodded unable to speak for fear that all her frustration would come out in tears if she tried to.

Aeris sat down next to Tifa. "Don't worry to much… Cloud is… not really Cloud."

"I know… he's not… he's different. I don't understand it." Tifa replied.

"He reminds me of someone I use to know. Someone I use to love… but I guess I've moved on." Aeris whispered turning to look into Tifa's eyes. Tifa remained silent but her heart fluttered. "There's someone else now," Aeris continued looking away again. " And I'm not interested in Cloud, Tifa. I thought you should know."

"Aeris… I… What I feel for Cloud is… I feel bad about how I treated him before. He saved my life once, and I never even thanked him, but I know now it's not… love," Tifa said gently grabbing Aeris' arm turning her to face her. "I know because I love someone else now," she finished looking into Aeris' eyes.

Aeris smiled, then she moved in closer. Tifa finished the gap between them. The kiss was gentle and sweet. For a minute or so the were whole and then they parted. Smiling Tifa laced her fingers into Aeris. Without a word they stood and walked back toward the bar hand in hand.
