The sudden silence that completely engulfed the courtroom was rather scary, to say the least. The videotape currently being played on the small, 1950s style TV on the wheeled trolley had captured the attention of every single person present, regardless of occupation or age. After, to see two "rivals" kissing on camera is not a usual occurrence.

However, such a spell never had much hold on the audience, usually broken by the smallest of sounds. Such a sound would be, for instance, the sound of Edgeworth's voice and the murmured string of curses. It could also be the scream of utter shock from the defense's assistant as she tried to process the fact that Nick was gay. It could also be the Judge enquiring as to whether that was why Edgeworth always looked like he had a "stick up his arse", and therefore question as to who actually did have the proverbial stick up the arse. Nevertheless, the eruption of the gallery was not a quiet one.

Many mothers shielded young eyes, looks of disgust plastered on faces. Fathers shook their heads, others nudging each other for "that money" from "that bet" after "that trial". Larry, however, was one of the loudest.

"NICK? DOES THIS MEAN YOU DON'T WANT IRIS ANYMORE?"

Phoenix just turned red, eyes averted from the witness who just happened to be Gumshoe, who had just happened to have this video, and who had just happened to not know what was on it. Said Gumshoe was opening and closing his mouth, possibly trying to ask "Mr Edgeworth sir, what are you doing? Did you fall or something, and Mr Wright just caught you at the wrong angle?" Or maybe trying to ask why he hadn't been invited.

He found it harder to ignore the insistent tug at his sleeve, probably by a hand that would soon be slapping him for kissing someone other than his "precious Mystic Maya!" However, he only found a light blush and a "I'm really happy for you Mr Nick, although it doesn't seem that Mr Edgeworth is enjoying himself, and Mr Scruffy Dick isn't breathing very well." He smiled at her, and turned an apologetic face towards Maya, who was now pointing at him whilst saying "YOU! EDGEWORTH! GAY!"

He was just happy that Pearl hadn't channelled Mia this trial. He didn't think he could quite cope with that too.
