Title: Almost
Author: Sometimes, A Muse
Date: 1/29/2008
Fandom: Legend of Zelda
Pairing: Dark Link x Sheik
Rating: R
Word Count: 260
Summary: Drabble. He's almost the real thing.
Disclaimer: Don't own the characters, don't have any money to give you if you sue. Original plot elements are mine.
Author's Note: In my version of the universe, young Link started his quest for the three stones at 10, it took a while, he turned 11. Seven years pass, he comes back at 18, so he's an "adult" for any "adult" situations that develop. Sheik is his own character, separate from Zelda.
Comments: One of my favorite fanarts inspired two stories: this is the shorter.

They're really nothing alike. But Sheik found ways that they were almost alike, and that's good enough.

His body is almost the same, same style of clothing covering the same build. His dark skin is warm, and Sheik doesn't know if the scars under his sensitive fingertips are mirrors of ones held by the lighter twin. Still, his body is hard in all the right places, and his hands reach out to remove the Sheikah wrappings, and that's good enough.

His eyes are almost the same. The color is all wrong, but determination and strength can still be seen in their depths. And all too soon his lids fall halfway closed, heavy with desire as he pulls Sheik closer, and that's good enough.

His voice is almost the same. It's a little deeper, but that difference is lost in the low growl of passion. That growl rumbles through their kiss, through the feeling of the hot mouth working along his jaw and down his neck to suckle the pulse point in his throat. Sheik moans when the sharp teeth tease, nipping from his shoulders down his chest, and that's good enough.

His attitude is almost the same. He doesn't give up, doesn't lose sight of what he considers to be his goal. He doesn't surrender, doesn't give up control, doesn't do anything he didn't want to in the first place. He moves over and inside Sheik, and there's friction and heat and sensation, and that's good enough.

It's almost close enough. That's all he'll ever have, and that's good enough.
