They're fighting some no name villain bent on world domination. Same old deal, he flies in, Impulse zooms by on the ground bellow, Robin is hanging from his hands and Wonder Girl is on his left. It's simple, easy even compared to some of the other villains they've fought. So Kon tosses Robin right at the guy circling around to join the fray.

Everything is fine; hell they're even winning, then some how this guy manages to get a hit in with Impulse who in turn collides with Wonder Girl. Then Robin shouts a warning and everything goes to hell in a hand basket.

All he knows is he's flying towards the guy, and then suddenly something hits him and manages to get by his TK and next thing he knows he's lying on the ground in a pile of rubble with little yellow birds dancing around his head.

The guy had a bomb. In his books that was cheating.

Kon climbs to his feet spotting Wonder Girl digging Impulse out a little ways away. But he can't find Robin. He can't find Tim. Robin was the closest to the guy before he exploded, Kon realizes with dread filling his stomach. The area looks like a war ground, it's a good thing everyone was cleared out, he scrambles along the debris searching for the tell tale colours. The dust is still clearing as he searches, using his TK to toss aside the large rocks.

"Robin! Rob!" Wonder Girl and Impulse take up the cry as well, seemingly having caught on. He pulls ahead of them heading straight to the source of the devastation and stops in his tracks. The guy, the one that had blown up is still there, climbing to his feet. There isn't a scratch on him.

Kon sees red. This guy hurt Tim; they can't even find Tim's body. Kon isn't stupid, he knows that with the blast that close…He's gonna make this guy wish he was never born.

His fist hits the mans face with a strangled cry of rage. He took his best friend from him- he took Tim from him. He wants nothing more than for this guy to feel whatever Tim felt before…before…

Even his strongest punches aren't doing much. This guy is invulnerable, he realizes or at least slightly invulnerable. This just serves to make him angrier. He just keeps punching and punching, before grabbing the guy by the throat and tugging him to his feet. As it is, Kon is hovering a little ways off the ground.

"You murderer." He snarls, shaking the man, watching as his eyes widen in something that may have been fear. "You killed him!" As if he didn't know what murderer meant. He's Superboy, he doesn't take lives- but Tim is gone and all he knows, he has never felt this murderous rage before. He wants to end this mans life. Wants to make him pay. It should worry him but he doesn't care.

One breathless minute of insane rage and mourning and loss.

Then a warm hand settles on his shoulder.

Kon drops the man in disgust, turning to find out what they want, whoever stopped him. The murderous rage drains away suddenly at the sight before him. Battered, bruised, uniform ripped and burnt, but there- Tim.

Distantly he realizes that there are sirens in the distance, coming for the guy that Wonder Girl has taken over guarding as Kon has seemingly decided to take a mental holiday at the moment.

"Kon?" Robin reaches out and touches his arm again. Warm hand through a slightly tattered gauntlet; it's really him.

"Tim!" He tugs the other boy into a tight hug, all the while making sure not to squish his friend. He buries his head in the crook of Tim's neck, breathing in the familiar scent underneath all the sweat and dirt. Tim isn't dead, he isn't gone. He's still there.

He doesn't ask how he did it, how he managed to avoid the blast, because it's Robin- boy freakin' Wonder. Kon does notice the limp that Robin is trying to hide as they make their way back to head quarters, so he scoops Tim up bridal style and takes off into the sky, not caring what anyone will think.

"You were worried." Robin points out. Kon can think of a better word; murderous, insane with rage. It worries him how easy that side of him can come out when it comes to Tim's safety.

"I'm fine." Robin points this out, looking like he's contemplating Kon's silence; so Kon decides to distract them both. He kisses him messily and awkwardly, but quickly falling into the familiar rhythm. He kisses him for every second he thought that Tim was dead, had left him alone. Kisses him for every painful second. Tim kisses him back, an apology for every second of worry, of pain.

It'll be alright, Tim is alright and even though he knows Robin can look out for himself, Kon feels much better watching his back as well. He doesn't think he can stand anymore of those minutes. The minutes of not knowing.
